p1570 control module disabled fault code help

Featured Replies

Got a 6n2 colour concept and have just put a gti engine into it

IV put the gti loom in along with the ecu/transponder box and key chip

I start it and it runs for 2 - 3 seconds then dies, if I take the key out then put it back in it will fire up then die again

Every plug and so on is plugged in

Any help would be great

Cheers

Thats all the signs that the immobiliser is kicking in and killing the fuel pump

I thought so

It happened to my old yellow colour concept after I changed the cambelt/head gasket but cured itself after leaving it overnight

Is there anyway to reset/get over this problem?

Cheers

Oh and just got the fault reader on it and its saying the "Engine Control Module Disabled"

Edited by fellowz_23

The only way to reset it is with a full working copy of vagcom/vcds as it would seem it's lost it's pairing with the key chip and the immobiliser

My dad has got the vag software on his laptop but it doesn't list my car

So il have to find someone who can come out and re-code the keys to the ecu?

Cheers

Its a p1570 engine ecu locked

So can it be unlocked or so thin

have you tried the original key chip on the off chance it might work?

Ye tried everything and keeps starting then dieing straight away, and p1570 ecu blocked/disabled fault code

Is the ring tied to the immob too?

  • Author

Well been told it doeosnt need to as that sensor just send the signal to the transponder box

I'm sending the ecu off to be bypass the ecu or unlock it

That's what I thought, just a thought though. Pretty sure the clocks aren't tied to it either, but the ring might be.

It might only be tuned to "hear" a certain frequency. I don't know. Simple to change though?..

Well what ever ring I get isn't going to be coded to this key/ecu unless I get the one off the car that this engine came out off, but its long gone

So il just have to try sending the ecu off to be unlocked

So got a phone call today and the immobiliser can't be bypassed

So really have come to a stop now

Have not a clue what to do now

Any thoughts?

your best off using the 1.4 ecu on the 1.4 as its mapped for it and it seems silly not using it if you have it there, you'll need to swap over the immoblizer and transponder ring as these are encoded to the ecu. the ring is a black plastic ring that clips around the ignition barrel, if you follow the wiring from that it will lead you to the black box that is the immob, unplug the other wire from it (it just goes off to the fuse box) and it's ready to transfer over to the other car (you may have to remove some of the lower parts of the dash to do this).

I've done some research for you, although it wasn't hard. Based on what I've said already, and what Guy's said, it looks like you're gonna need the ring too!

ECU, immob, ring and key. So yeah, you might need a matching set..
