Never owned non-vag. Had use of a mazda 6 company pool car a few times. Not a bad drive either (same as the current mondeo underneath) just a bit underpowered and rubbish on fuel.

My first car was my mk3 coupe, sold when I started uni last year, really regret it

I also had a mk2 bready that I never drove and had to scrap when I started uni as it had a badly rusted out sill and I didn't have the time/money to sort it out.

REALLY miss having a car to work on, luckly I've just been given this

1998 1.6 Astra estate, run out model with lots of extras like sport seats, alloys, air con etc :)

Its my dads, I was driving it around most of the summer for journeys I didn't want to do in the 1ltr Polo, failed its MOT and my dad didn't want to spend money on it as he's got a new car so gave it to me :)

Only non-vag cars I've had are a 1.6 306, 300tdi Discovery and my last non-vag a 3.9 V8 ES Discovery. Only got rid of it cos 12mpg was getting boring and I couldn't be bothered to do the welding for its MOT.
