you mean like my radiator :-o its only there as a safety strap after having it fall off before! its securely wedged in place now but the ties there for peace of mind.

my mate tried to pikey the exhaust my exhaust on after snapping the hook off the rear hanger but theres pikey and then theres downright dangerous!! gonna get a repair panel for the rear hanger and do it as per the guide on here or weld it on, whichever looks more suitable.

managed to win two more hockenheim alloys complete with centre caps off ebay for a stupidly low price which I'm gonna collect in the week so if anyone has two centre caps they wanna sell please let me know ;)

I love reading about G40's lol

Think it need some contrasting wheels though, or at least the colour, maybe silver?

its almost as though they have a mind of their own at times! i know mine has!

I'm not a fan of the scene wheels or bright colours and besides, they're painted with wilkos matt black house paint which is tons easier to sort should i scratch them or get a stonechip (councils gone mental round here laying feckin chippings everywhere and not removing the excess!) although i wouldnt mind a set of minilites in a nice shade of grey or purple ;)

Yeaaah minilites!

I'm just thinking the hocks in black with them tyres looks slightly big, but then too bland at the same time.

Matte silver 8-)

tyres are 175/65/13 which are abit big but I'm no expert in tyres and they need to be wide yet practical - yet again I'm not a fan of poke as the car needs to be practical as the roaf outside my house is a glorified farm track

i may do something mad with them again soon (like i did the glitter) but at the mo I'm liking how it looks so its staying as is :)

Looks good as is tbh!

how come your running 65's then not stock g40 60 profiles? haha

  • Author

they're the tyres that came on the wheels and as they had good legal tread, i decided to use them.

i may change the tyre size when i replace all 4 but theyll do the job till then.

Makes sense! haha

UPDATE:

nothing really. been too busy driving back and forth between work, two hospitals and the other halfs house to do anything to the car. been a very busy and stressful time :(

cars starting to look run down which is depressing. time to breath some life back into it. purchased some G40 front seats, grille and CF petrol flap from Tez. hope to pick em up next weekend and get them fitted. hope to sort afew mechanical jobs too at the same time and purchase some new bumpers as mine are hanging. even gonna attempt to make the dent more presentable.......shock...horror!

also brought a nitrous tank off ebay for a nice price. gonna build a nitrous install piece by piece as I'm in no rush for it and i can do some research at the same time.

cheers guys ;)

wasnt that expensive but does have afew cool features on it. most of the wiring is simple, its just the plug to the wiring loom and ecu that has me confused!!

will probably be sat in its box for bloody ages until i dare attack the wiring in the G.

well this finally turned up yesterday whilst i was out.........

2012-12-08163049.jpg

start collecting bits yet again

Ooooo awesome! How much does that cost to fill? Haha

  • Author

no idea as of yet. price fluctuates so gotta find the nearest place to me to get some prices.

Fair enough!

I'd make sure you strengthen your floor incase it falls out and fries your piston rings :)

  • Author

 never did understand how the floor falling off fried piston rings?????

just gotta decide where I'm mounting it - boot for stealth or passenger footwell for ease of use

Between your legs for both.

Careful the inlet manifold welds don't blow!

  • Author

i was thinking right handside of passenger footwell. to arm its just a case of leaning over and turning the cylinder on ;) was thinking of mounting it at an angle on the transmission tunnel behind the front seats but it wouldnt be practical as i need my rear seat for the lil one.

wow, been a while since i updated this!

been a rollercoaster since december. the cold weather didnt do the car any favours but did me proud to keep going. the top mounts now badly need changing which ill be on top of very shortly and will be ordering a PPP stage 2 frame to hopefully reign in some of the torque steer and resist the chassis from pulling itself apart! also received a new loom from James (cheers chap) so in the process of installing that onto my aquamist system so hopefully i can get that up and running too. once them problems are sorted, i can get onto the next silly project - nitrous ;)

  • Author

to do list....

replace driver side cv boot

finish wiring aquamist kit

wire in turbo timer

re-wire voltage & afr gauges

replace turbo/manifold & turbo/downpipe gaskets

fit ARB blocks

fit subframe

manufacture nitrous bottle mount

  • Author

ARB blocks arrived today (cheers Max) so a quick lick of ye ole black hammerite and they'll be ready to fit tomorrow when i can be finally arsed to get out of bed and do it
