Right, first of all thanks to all of you for bothering to read this. My problem is a simple one, what suspension will fit a Polo 6KV or Polo Classic/Saloon I'm not looking to lower the car that much around 40mm its got to be a nice ride as its a daily that does long drives (4 hours) and lots of round town trips. Any who what I was wondering was has anyone ever lowered one of these and what did they use? Can you use a 6N kit? If so will it lower the same amount? All the standard listing list the rear shocks being different I think that this must only be a load weight difference but again a cant find any info anywhere grrrrrr!

The final part the car itself : P Reg 1997 Polo 6KV 1600 Engine code 1F 75bhp (I think?) and here's a pic.

Oh finally I have spoken to Philj as far as hes concerned there shouldnt be any issues fitting 6N stuff and recommended the AP 30/40 kit has anyone fitted a AP kit if so what did you think of it?????

get a set of coilovers mate, most lower from 20mm - 120mm so u can get the right height to suit you

I didn't think 6n bits fitted as its 6k platform, IIRC Ibiza bits fit

Cheers guys, I'm after daily comfort so coilovers are not really what I'm after but thanks anyway, I am getting conflicting info about the fitment on these cars if I look at after market specs, its only the rear shocks that are different they seem to have a higher payload rating. Most aftermarket kits stick an extra 100kg on the rear shock spec I assume that this is to cope with the extra body mass plus a extra bit for the larger boot space (there expecting you to put more in it) but my best bet is a AP kit part No sp80-007 so its looking like thats the one I'm going for at the mo. Are you looking for new shocks and lowering springs? Or just the springs? From memory the extra duty rear suspension was ment for the estate version only but as its the same platform they probably just used the same setup.

Again thanks guys, after a long chat with Philj today we have settled on a AP SP80-007 kit this will give me a 40/30 drop and is actually listed for a 6KV so fingers crossed it all goes as planned.
