if you are reusing your top mounts, yes

yes unles your stupid like i was,, thick gloves and an angle grinder.. worked tho!

You could get away with not using them if you're safe and think it through or improvise

well i dont really know what I'm doing... the only dampers n springs iv ever taken off are off the starlet and sciecento at college n thats just undo the three bolts at the top then the two at the bottom and that was it

I didnt use them when doing the coil overs on mine, just made sure I pointed it away from my face and any cars. It didnt really come of too dramatically either

hmmm I'm not sure whether to risk doing it without one or not... :\

Just undo the bolt slowly and you'll be fine

Or even for the last turns of the thread put it on the floor an drop stuff on the grips to turn it

I'm assuming 6n suspension is similar to 6n2

Don't need one, just undo the top nuts/fittings with the car on the ground and they'll dismantle as you jack it up (car's weight acts as the compressor).

You only need to take apart not put together.

You could always put a ratchet strap or 2 round the spring before removing the nut so it expands minimal amounts.

Don't try holding down with your hands, you'll likely get smashed in the face with a top mount

True that mikey, remove your top nut and plate, then the top mount nut all with car on floor, then jack up

my dads got some ratchet straps so I'm gonna use them n losen the top bolts off n then jack it up slowly :D

You won't need ratchet straps. Take both top nuts off and jack car up.
