just last week...

And loving it at the moment. swapped it with a lad on here BigCheez i think it was. cant take credit for it as it came on the white ultralites and coilovers! and a straight through exhaust although quite rusty and blowing so will be 'amended' . Loving it at the moment already fit a gt interior, and got my roof rack from mk3 golf to fit. and gave it a good clean and polish. More pics to follow just wanted to say Hello! ... Should be PIC HEAVY! roll on meets an shows.

As for plans K03, just going to try keep in tidy and run it for a bit it is my Daily. wouldnt mind some differnt wheels to put my own stamp on it but the white goes well with the blue.

tempted to get a few stickers like my old mk3 polo,

ats.jpg

scrappageschemesurvivor.jpg

but not sure think it may be too tidy to clutter with stickers.

M.O.T's up in July an know it will come round soon enough, only things i can notice is that it has no horn at the moment and wen getting a second hand one an connecting the wires it didnt work made sure the connection was being made at the steering wheel and checked all the fuses but still no joy.

that and its got a straight through exhaust so need to get that sorted.

Ha, I did wonder if this would show up on here.

No i don't have the estate anymore. I got an itch for another 86C so i bought a mk3 GT 8-) Nice to see another tidy local example.

I wouldn't bother with the stickers as i was pretty blown away by how clean the car looked. Suited the white one but this one just looks right. The white minilights suit this down to the ground too.

I love the roof rack as i love those Thule farings on this age of car. Might affect your consumption but cool comes at cost :-)

looking sweet, rocker cover looks good too!

DemoLover- ayeee its on here now lol, like i said i have actually been on here ages but got plenty of enthusiasm with this polo now so thought why not do a thread!! you used to have a calypso green gt didnt you? bout same time Chris Boyes had his G40 on the road, dont know if you know him? both making me want one while i had my astravan lol.

Right bodge job behind the headunit and no aerial to be seen... found it had been cut just as it goes from scuttle to wing. blaaag to will be taking thre arch liner off to try find the end of it. will also have to try find the plug of the other end behind the dash somewhere..

Question is wil i be able to join the aerial cable back together and it work fine? can you just crimp another aerial plug on the end to go into back of headunit.. i guess so... or would i have to get new aerial with wire and plug attached :S .

Also noticed a bit of a rusty hole in the battery tray! the dreaded common rust spot so hopefully get a plate welded in there soonish.

Cheers laaaads

found that the boot bit was a bit rusty. bit of a shitter but is hidden by the rubber seal.

fml001.jpg

fml002.jpg

so bought some waxoyl stuff from halfords, 9 flaming quid ! an sprayed that on lol.

fml003.jpg

I took my door card off as i was going to fit som sound deadening i have left over but then found that there is no waterproof sheeting in the door so I'm going to have to get some sort of plastic sheeting an put it in the door before i put the sound deadening on... so i cleaned the door :S .

fml006.jpg

fml007.jpg

fml008.jpg

fml010.jpg

witch i weirdly like haha but is my daily so will be getting sound deadening and doorcar back on i reckon.

Jack my car up and the back comes up as high as front lol. witch is quite handy.

fml011.jpg

fml012.jpg

fml013.jpg

I wanted to get into the arch liner as for some reason the wire for the aerial has been cut.

But while i was there i couldnt resist wanging a bit on degreasant about to see how itd come up .

fml014.jpg

fml015.jpg

fml016.jpg

i was going to underseal all the arch but when i realised i could get it so clean and get the blue through i dont really want to now. although i guess it would be wise to :S .

looks pretty tidy this does mate apart from the obvious boot rust. I'm quite surprised that thats as for as those coilovers go down though.

cheers vwjake31 aye is a shame, notice the battery tray has rust aswell unfortunatley so going to get a plate welded in there. yes i was quite disapointed with that aswell... can get them adjustable top mounts though cant you ? not sure if you can for the polos... could bet an option. loads left on the rears aswell.

fml017.jpg

fml018.jpg

also lowered the rear a bit more because it had some silly rake so passengers could get in the back lol.. safe to say they cant now!! lol.

fml019.jpg

fml020.jpg

also got loads of dirt and dust out from behind the rolled arches... musnt of been cleaned out before rolled unfortunately!! also around the fuel pipes! it was full so worth a check on your own polo!

fml021.jpg

also cleaned the car, polished, waxed and AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection, so all shiny shiny!! :)

aprilfools002.jpg

aprilfools005.jpg

aprilfools004.jpg

my boot hasnt locked since i got it either. blag when people just let my victims free when they hear em.

so decided to take it off an just give it a good clean after reading something on here that a lot of the time thats all it is ...

aprilmon012.jpg

aprilmon013.jpg

while i had it off decided to clean the taillight bits too! thinking they prob ant been cleaning since 1993! but tbh werent even tht doesnt so no real noticable difference i dont think.

aprilmon014.jpg

put the lock in degreasent for about 20 mins lol. cleaned it all out then greased it all again with some spray lubricant but to now joy still didnt lock.

so i bought another lock off ebay for a mk2 golf but said polo aswell and fit that. needed a bit of fiddling but boot now locks! :)

in doing so tho broke a little plastic lug thing that holded the metal bar dwn at the actual clasp. so annoyinh ended up cable tying it witch works just fine but still annoying knowing its bodged haha. but dunno where id get a new one ????

guess just a scrappers..

http://s1086.photobucket.com/albums/j454/D...=poloooo003.jpg

one of these plastic lug things broken

poloooo002.jpg

poloooo001.jpg

cable tied, grr.

also set about fitting a a new waterproof membrane in the door , never had any issues with water before but should be one there so went and bought a waterproof poly dust sheet thing from bnq for a 5er but was massive so should do drivers door and rear quarters if needed.

aprilmon001.jpg

in doing so tho had to take the clips of extra and the clips u have to push the middle bit through and it just ***** off into the door! managed to retreive all bar one and now door card wont fit on properly grr :( so irratating.

aprilmon002.jpg

aprilmon003.jpg

where would i get these ? vw dealers i guess, blag.

aprilmon006.jpg

also broke one of them...

aprilmon005.jpg

aprilmon007.jpg

and them haha! too heavy handed! trip to scrappers needed i guess.

also fit sound deadening as i had some about . fit it to door but wasa right farse tbf. for drivers i think ill try fit it to inside of door card rather than onto door. dont see why that would be any less effective.

How is that Hammerite stuff? Doing mine soon but not 100% sure what to go for.

Saw this parked outside sun earlier on my way home from work, clear to say I love it, wheels suit it to a T! Have to meet up sometime..... :ninja:

Looks nice mate, your missing anti rattle plates off your fronts brakes. Noticed it on the edge of one of the photos!

  • Author

Cheers Ellison, ye thats the one was at my Dads not in the boozer unfortunately. stuck out like a saw thumb on that corner haha but nowhere to park!! .

Haha Well spotted POLOTOMMY i didnt even realise. i didnt know they were 'anti-rattle' though? are they needed then i take it ? sometimes there is a bit of a noise but i thought it may be the fact i arent running spigots yet .. haha oops.

was going to post asking 'mk3 open air? ' but googled it first an found this...

mk3poloopenair.jpg

what a thing!! i think open air suits mk3's soooo much. aparently they was a factory breadvan open air but was never in the uk. wish i had the skilllss to do it .

Also started using vpower, super unleaded .... very noticeable difference in the driving and better economy aswell as i think I'm treating the old girl! , got 40.04 litres to £60.03 !! quite steep tbf :s anyone else use it ?

There not dangerous without them, sometimes you tend to lose one nown again. but it would be advisable to chuck some on :)
