Nothing on the lens can tint or change the output colour of the bulb.

But nowhere does it state you can't have bulbs that produce yellow light.

Here are the new rules from the VOSA testing manual

Section 1.7 5b White or Yellow

Section 1.7 5a reasons for rejection would be down to the testers view as to wether the light output is below "that required to illuminate the road ahead"

Section 1.1 3d reasons for rejection would be down to the testers view as to wether the light output is "not visable from a reasonable distance"

Correct, it will come down to the individual testers interpretation of those statements

Those pages I posted before are from the VOSA 2012 handbook for MOT testers. The wording gives the individual tester some room to use their judement, as there is'nt a minimum light level for the headlights or a set distance from which the rear lights etc should be visable from, so unless you have totally blacked out your lights, I doubt they will fail? or have a set of non tinted lenses in the car, so if the tester does'nt like the tints just ask of you can fit the alternative lenses and then refit the others when it passes.
