1.6 AFH/avy hybrid stuff

Featured Replies

So up for sale is all the stuff I had collected to build a second 1.6 afh/avy hybrid. I was going to run this with a high compression ration to suit my itb's and the plan was to build this up so I could carry on using the polo as a daily, things have changed and the polo will now be off the road for the next year so I have no need to build up a second engine

What I have...

1x avy block, crank, rods, 3x good pistons (some pitting on bores)

1x late afh block, crank, rods, 4x good pistons

1x afh head (untested but valves removed and lapped back in, all seemed straight and sealed as should)

1x pair of afh cams

1x rocker cover (painted in primer)

2x avy alloy sump

1x new cam belt

Afh cam pulley assembly (tensioner, relay roller, ect) all with less than 500 miles

Also pretty much all cam belt covers ect

my plan with this lot was to use the avy crank and rods in the afh block with afh pistons (comp ratio around 12.5:1 :unibrow: ) which means the relay roller wouldn't need to be modified and I could use the afh head gasket and the thicker head bolts. All the parts are here to go that route other than shit like the head gasket, head bolts, ect. I'd also fit new big end and main bearings and new piston rings as a matter of course.

I'm after £120 for the lot and I'm not willing to split at this point

Photo's to follow shortly

hi mate

i'll take this lot off you

so theres basically a whole good 1.4 and a 1.6 short block with a ruined piston?

have you got a flywheel and starter with it out of interest?

i'm only in leamington spa so collection would be no problem, provided it'll all fit in my civic xD

Offt, tempted at that price myself. Still, hardly need a fourth engine! GLWS though, would b a monster with that cr in a mk2

Yeah there's a full but stripped afh and a stripped avy bottom end with a cracked piston. I have already fitted the afh pistons to the avy rods (still need the circlips putting on mind) and removed the afh piston rings as they weren't the best

The rocker in the pic is from the engine in my car, the one that will come with this is in primer. The box has the afh rods and avy pistons in it and the sump is full of bits and bobs too, plus I have a tub in the shed with all the pulleys ect in it

Should be Eric, its currently sitting in a lock up feeling sorry for itself and when I started it the other day for the first time in a couple of weeks it was smoking like fuck for some reason although it cleared after a run up the street. Hopefully its just through sitting if I can get some petrol I might give it a run at the weekend and maybe get the 14's chucked on it ready for the fest, for some reason the brakes are barely working aswell

fair play son! looking forward to seeing it!

Honestly guy mate, if I'd have known you were selling this, even for twice as much I'd have been straight round yours, am gutted!
