WELL. Got my eye on a mk2 8v gti. 2.0 conversion and it looks pretty tidy. just waiting on the guy to respond to my messages lol

You'll get a good Coupe S for that, and if it's got an MH in they cost bugger all to run.

Or if you just want cheap and depenable, I bought a diseasal Corsa C on a whim the other month for £900, 60mpg+ all day long and despite being a Vauxhall, it's hard to fault.

27-30 mpg round town, 40+mpg motorway as long as I'm not gunning it with this golf. Always fancied one, just thought they were out of my price range. Been

I know it sounds daft, but dont really want another polo as I'll end up tarting it up instead of my 'loon lol

THanks for all the replies as usual chaps, always of great help.

Depending on what I end up with I'll get some piccies :)

Cop out :-(

it was no good. Needed more work than what he'd let on in the advert :(

Not vag, but e30s are cheap, bought 2 now for £350 each,

Picked it up last night.

Gearbox is whining its tits off under load and the drivers side window can be a bit dickie but apart from that its flawless.

Pulls like a train aswell :)

Standard bar the ghey alloys and a custom stainless steel exhaust (stock tips, but gives a nice deep 'burbley' exhaust note)

Just need to get a set of 15" RA's lol and sort the niggles :)

Looks good mate, I had one a year or two ago.

The only car I wish I hadn't sold...

-edit- Is that jade green?

Also does the MFA work?

Yup its Jade green and also the MFA works bar the mpg, but I think a vac pipes on its way out lol

still learning about it to be honest, dont regret buying one though, as I said always fancied one just thought they were outta my price range after making a huge mistake getting the clio on tick lol...

So thanks to all the replys once again :)

Fair play, if you like your old dubs, you've got to own a Golf GTI at least once.

I've had 3, still like Polos better

Personally I'd of saved up for a proper one

Does a Golf rallye class as a GTI? I've one of them - and was by far the best car i ever owned for fun

^^Nope. League of its own

Whats a proper one guy? lol

16v or go home.

Personally I'd of saved up for a proper one

16v or go home.

Dam straight!

Lol

yer- 8v is kinda pointless, they normally lose more horses than there left with after years lf thrashing. 16v still has enough horses left to make it worth while

  • Author

Oh right, this seems nippy enough for me like. And I've jumped out of a renaultsport clio 197

Masses of history and its had a rebuild in 2007 all documented

I'l have to have a go of a valver to test the difference lol :)

but I know someone selling a VR lump.... but I'm liking the running costs atm lol

My mate used to have a 16v but had never driven an 8v, his misses has just got a mk2 8v as a first car and after driving it he says he now knows first hand how much bollocks people are talking when they try and compare the 8 to the 16v

nice golf buddy,

but personally i'd have gone for a seat inca ;)

fair enough, dosnt bother me like lol

I got a cheap car that I fancied. It gets me from A2B with a big grin on my face and dosnt rape my bank account so I'm happy.

Might have to try out a valver when I get chance too :)
