I've never found any of the sites to be significantly cheaper than having a good ring round the local tyre places.

Just been down the same route for the Mrs' car. Called the local tyre fitters and the best quote for a single tyre fitted and balanced was £97.00. Had a cheeky look on the web and found exactly the same tyre (Toyo CF1) for £52 delivered. This was at www.oponeo.co.uk, they are a polish setup but have had really good reviews and only took three days to deliver. Fitting shouldn't cost more than £15, so well worth checking out...

Ye IV rang a few local places and they just ask silly prices and all stock shitty tyres, and that's what I'm trying to get off my car

I rang round all my local places for a set of 4 Continental EcoContacts - when I mentioned I could get them cheaper online they would match or beat the price (incl fitting).

Ended up using the national chain Tanvic and they did them 10% less than the best quote I got everywhere and a good job of fitting them. (They also swapped my standard alloys for my new Pepperpots for free!)

Moral of story - ring round, make notes of all quotes and barter!
