Hi all, thought I'd post up some pics of my Polo, its pretty much a standard 6n with P slots.

Would like to take off the bump strips, change the bumper, maybe make it a bit lower. Not sure but I thought you'd be able to give me some ideas...

Any suggestions how to get the some of the sticky stuff off the boot and the window...

Also what's the best way to remove the aerial, thinking about doing a chequered black/white roof. Or alternatively is there anywhere I could move it too?

a toffee wheel will remove the sticky stuff on the boot and remove the sticky stuff under the rub strips when you take them off to . u can get one off ebay for about a fiver , just goes in a drill but must be careful not to rub to much or it will remove the paint lol , as for the areial y dont you just take it out while you lay the roof on then but it back with the vinyl under it ? all you got to do is drop the roof lining at the back and undo the nut that holds the aerial in place and unplug it from the connector and its out . defo needs lows some coilover should sort it out and stop the body roll when you go round corners . would also look at some clear indicators and side repeaters , joey the headlights ie split them and paint the bit around the edge black and some all red rears would look sweet , oh and some 16v bumpers and a 6n2 gti splitter of the front . looks like a good base to start with tho as you dont see many more doors done . looking good i use nail varnish remover to get my glue off my polo then polish it up after u got any more plans for it

Good idea with the aerial too, I was just going to get rid of it, because its not very good and I hardly ever use the radio

I think 6npolose has covered all the plans I had, some clear indicators/side repeaters will be going on the shopping list. Already have some 6n2 rear lights to fit, just haven't got around to it yet. I'm building a beach buggy so that eats up all my time/funds, so will have to save for coilovers…

Still looking out for a 16v bumper, and I might install a boot popper and try a bit of smoothing on the boot, but we'll see...

I got some 944 seats I was going to put in the Buggy but wondering about putting them in the Polo :/

i got sum 16v bumpers, no grills tho :( £100 no damage or cracks, just need re painting the correct color

Definately got my hands full, finishing of my 3rd year of uni at the moment as well

At the moment this is about as fair as my buggy build has progressed - started with an absolute wreck of a shell and went from there :-D

I did just get a cheap new boot to play around with in the summer, hopefully I'll be able to get some bumpers then too and start messing with my Polo then

I would say that's a creepy coincidence! but the buggy was my first car - I just haven't driven it yet

It's been a while and not a lot has changed really. I started by swapping the rear lights to the all red 6n2 ones.

Then eventually I removed the bump strips.

Which was a slight improvement although some rust had appeared on the sills, wheels arches and doors which needed treating and filling where it was really bad.

You get the idea... I treated it and filled where it was needed, I wasn't too afraid of the task after working with rusty beetle parts and filling on the buggy shell. I primed and painted with paint I had left over in the garage before getting around to painting the whole car red again. The cheapest option was to go for the red oxide. I had a car painted in blackboard paint which was much easier to just roller on. Spraying took a little more time but I was glad when it was all one colour again.

I'd been keeping my eyes open for a 16v bumper for the back at least (I wasn't bothered to the front). The back had a bit of a bump before I bought the car so why waste paint on a bumped bumper. I got one in the end, fairly cheap but again needed some work.

No entirely unique, you've probably seen it all before. The front splitter needs to go back on and the P-slots are a bit scruffy. I'm thinking of changing them since I'm getting a lil bored. Any suggestions what I could swap them for? I never need get around to lowering the car but I went for lower profile tyres which brought it down a bit but not much.

I'm thinking something 5 spoke and cheapish. I'm also wondering whether to look for a 15 wheel with lower tread. I dunno.
