perfect size wheels for 6n2

Featured Replies

hello everyone, just curious to see, what size wheels would be better to fit on a 6n2 polo 1.4? I would like to buy a set of banded steel wheels and i am not sure which size looks the best? either 15" or 14"? which one tucks under the arch better and fits nicer when the car will be slammed on coilovers :) finally will 9J fit on the hub nicely :) btw my rear arches have been rolled so hopefully it will sit nicely :)

cheers for the help :)

depends on whether your bothered about keeping the rolling radius right for one thing.

with tyres of the same profile height (ie both fitted with 195/45s), the 14s will give a small drop on their own. the 15s would allow skinnier tyres keeping closer to the correct rolling radius.

9j will go depending on et and tyres, but imo 8s are wide enough.

here's what my old 6n2 looked on 14x8 banded steels, the tyres were 165/60

14's or 15's work a treat, and I wouldn't go past 16 as an absolute maximum. Even then, I'd want some silly profile tires if I was going to run 16's.

You can run 9's on a 6N2, but offset is the key.

These are 14x9 with the offset giving literally about a fingers clearance on the spring. Something between 10 and 15 sits it wide without being too illegal, in my opinion.

I'm on 14s, the good thing about 14s is you sit lower when you wind the coils down, no arch gap like the 13s have but ground clearance is mental!

I have 7j fronts 8j back, I think 9j is brave considering the 8js sit out the arch with the mental offset of a set of banded steelies!

Thats my polo, on 7/8js without arch work and with the wheels just on the tyre tread is literally under the rear wing panel, so almost illegal, I sorted this out with a bit of camber, but tyre wear is always a problem then!

I personally wouldnt go 9j, not worth it to only see the difference when you are laying on the floor behind the car.

Heres the 8j tucked in with some camber, looks pretty cool, can lower that down even more and not get scrub.

This is without camber:

You can see that if i put someone in the back the arch would sit on the tyre tread itself

15's all day long for me dude

14s fit best i thinkmi once had some 13s starmags on but they hit on the calipers so had 2 go but they looked good.

I'd say 15/16's for a 6n2.

14's you'd be sitting closer to floor to begin with, have to go lower to rid arch gap and be fully slammed, although then you get more clearance for full lock and such

Assuming smaller circumference tyres btw

Id Say 15's with 195/45/15 tyres mine sit nice
