Seen a few well presented modded ones today on my travels - very nice. All red with gold BBS split rims. Pretty low. Also a black on on Rotiforms.

They do go fairly well! Especially with a few tweaks

They're not that quick as standard - but it's pretty easy to fix that.

That said, I've had a few Minis in on test (newest shape) and the John Cooper Works was the most powerful of the lot - bloody rapid but it felt like it was right on the limits of grip all the time. They're a lot of fun though, even with next to no power. You can sling them around and they take a lot to come unstuck. The JCW had lost a little of that grip.

There quick little cars but they have a massive lack of space inside and in the boot. Aslong as your only planning on putting the kids in the back and a gym bag in the boot you'll be alright

Strapping a supercharger to it doesn't make it any less of a hairdressers/posh girl/idiot car IMO

std ones arent that quick. my stock g40 will keep up with one at road legal speeds no trouble. tweaked and your asking for trouble. The engine is an old chrysler unit, not very strong, not very effiecient either. Back when i worked for rover/bmw, they had no end of trouble with the prototypes, which were running way more power than the std production car and if i recall correctly were pushing more bhp than the jcw cars too.

On the flip side though, they are a pretty well put together car, handling is great fun, still look great considering the early ones are pretty old now. std kit is pretty good, all the usual gadgets you'd expect from a modern car, the harman kardon stereo upgrade is a nice extra if you can find one with it installed, but tbh the std stereo isn't too shabby. they do suffer with the odd electricsl gremlin, but other than that, they are pretty reliable. I'd happilly own one

small so easy to park

sounded ace

really hard to get me legs under the steering column (had to slide in and I'm only 5ft 9 on a good day)

interior was cack and nothing was where I thought it should be

Correct. Going back to it thou they are great fun but the boot space is worse than the original mini

Saying that, some cars have a lot worse issues than others :p

Tyres are like £200+ a corner

Let's take the BMW 335d. Very nice car and fair quick. Problems they tear rear alloy wheels apart not tyres wheels and they go throu the smaller turbo. My uncle had one he was on his second turbo and 3 sets of wheels. He has sincegotshut surprise surprise.

NOT well specc'ed as standard - all the decent options are expensive extras or in a expensive package with other options you might not want

Mini's :( my mom loves them and hates them. She's on her 3rd 1 know. Get a fairly aged supercharged model and change the supercharger pully to a smaller 1, Meaning more acceleration and better boost Or you could just get a nice old muscle car ahhaa :p
