I ran 10mm spacers on standard bolts.. be fine.

On the Mk3? How much thread was there actually holding it on? Bet it was like one full 360 and it was tight?

Thanks bud, already having the wheels and suspension has helped with a pretty swift turnaround i think i'll just mock the 10mm and bolt up on a wheel and see how i feel about how much thread is left haha.

Cheers mate, i definitely prefer them, nice and low key.

Couple little updates, good ol' pay day! Car is booked in to have the clutch and cambelt replaced in 2 weeks, bought the parts today so halfway there lol.

And i also decided to respray the sunroof flap, and bought some stainless "fasteners" for it. Were pretty pricey for how minor they are but seeing as the ends of my original ones had been reduced to dust i thought it was a worthy investment!

Before.. this was the best side. Nothing attached the other side, had just rusted away, I'm sure many people are familiar haha:

Whilst rubbing down, considered going all out and having it polished but thought nahh..

And sprayed up and all fitted!

Nothing major :p but looks a lot neater and its just convenient not having to clip the flap onto the rust each time

Soo when you can't afford a stainless system and want a bit of parp, what's the option? Pikey fit a cherry bomb of course :p

Turned up today and i set about making it fit. Starting from just behind the rear box the cherry bomb is 6 inches shorter than the standard exhaust, so i cut 6 inches off the scrap end to use as an extension, then i mocked up the sections as to how they need to be welded:

And painted the rest of the exhaust with Silver/Grey (so it says on the tin), is looks more like primer grey haha!

So now that leaves me with this! Need to find somebody who can help me out with a bit of welding to fix it all together, then it'll be a case of figuring out how to hang it off the car:

Couple up to date pictures - went to Mount Edgecumbe classic car show yesterday so was a good excuse for proper clean and polish ( except the bonnet as that's way past it, it's a waste ).

3000 miles since i bought it now, given me no problems at all been loving it

I can't belive how much better that paint looks now than when you first put a photo up mate!
