1.4 6n2 fog wiring?

Featured Replies

Alright guys, I've just bought myself a set of fogs, and I was wondering if the wiring kit, like relays etc was already tucked away?

I know I need a switch but do I need anything else? if so is it a pain to get hold of a kit and fit it?

Cheers Tom

The wiring/connectors for the fogs should be clipped up behind the bumper cover, connect to the fog lights and then all you need to do is replace the headlight switch and all done, no relays involved

As Nige said the wiring is tucked away behind the fog covers

You will need some bolts an nuts or screws with them metal u-clip things to secure the fogs, you will need 3 per fog

The fogs fasten in with a platic insert and self tapping screw. These can be bought from VW for a few pence. Saves any drilling on messing about, the plastic insert just pushes into the hole that's already there. Only other thing you might want is the proper grills with cut-outs for the lamps.

thx for the replies guys :)

sweet ok, well ill have a look today for the wires!

I've got all the rest of the stuff like the actual fog front grills and screws :)

If I get any problems ill let you know

Cheers, Tom

Just in case you don't know, when you take out the light switch from the dash, push the knob in and twist to the right. This retracts the fasteners and you can pull it out. Best to practice on the replacement so you can see how this works.

If you take the old grills off, you can see the wires fastened up ready to use. They look like they go into a connector but with no wire coming out of the part of the connector which is fastened. If you release the part with the wire attached the fixed part can stay in place if you ever want to remove the lights.
