Anyone have any recomendations? Preferably from people who have used something a while ago and its still stuck! Have used spray adhesives before, but they tend to either come out in a piss thin streak or they dont tend to last too long. Anyone from the 'industry' have any recomendations?

We use contact adhesive at work, so you spray on each surface & let it go tacky and it's awesome, I can't remember the brand though :/ definitely worth spending the money, do 3m offer anything?

i used wickes carpet adhesive and everything is still stuck down nearly a year on. its pretty cheap too

Are they both sprays? 3m do do something, are they the daddies then? Ideally would like a bit of adjustability once the fabric is in place, something contact doesn't allow.

I done my headlining in my 6n with some stuff i got off ebay called trim fix it was in a silver and red tin .. Done that about this time last year and is still good .. If u do use it.. dont use it inside as its hard to get off tables and carpet

wickes stuff is made by bostik, flooring spray adhesive and contact adhesive are good.

Just bought some Wurth stuff. Its a contact adhesive, but I'll see how i get on with it.

just read through these posts and no one has asked what hes sticking? what kind of fabric/trim is it? I've built loads of custom ice installs in my time and have found the autoleads spray adhesive to be very good and lasts,but it was no good when we were trimming bits with vynal or leather look materials so we used a contact adhesive for that, all depends what your sticking, if your carpet has a backing then spray adhesive will work but wont last all too long. when using spray adhesive remember to give a good even coat over your pannel then leave for a minute or two for it to go tacky before sticking otherwise it stays too wet and the solvent escapeing makes it peal back off

you may be better with a contact adhesive then, the spray adhesive will stick the vinyl but wont last too long, never worked with tweed so wouldnt want to comment but contact adhesive would be the way to go with your vinyl

I've got some stuff at work that we use for sticking down floor tiles (in a heavy use office) If you are looking at carpeting etc this might be just your stuff as I've never had a tile come up (without a lot of force) I will try to pick a can up tomorrow to get the brand name as I can't remember it. but I don't give any promises for vinyl as the solvents may ruin your project. if I remember the instructions correctly it may be a spray on impact as I think I had to let it dry to tacky before assembly.

Anyway brand name tomorrow.

WURTH's stuff is very good. For the vinyl I would use the spray adhesive and for the tweed I would use there contact adhesive ( I think that's what it's called), it's in a small pot and has a brush in it, this stuff will stick your shoes to the floor so be careful with it. Both take a couple of minutes to go off so what I do is apply it to both surfaces and wear latex gloves, then take them off and let the glue go off a bit then with your clean hands place the material how you want it. This way you get it how you want and don't get it dirty. Also for spray adhesive the wicked stuff is also pretty good.

Sorry it has taken so long but could not find your posting. The stuff I use at work is called "supastick" Don't know where you can buy it but can provide a link to website who seem to be the manufacturer. have not tried to buy it yet but will need some soon myself as I am on last can.
