hey guys wanted suggestions for interior mirror,

wanted to fit an Audi A6 SELF DIMMING Interior Mirror to vw polo gti mk 5

but was wondering if it would fit at all or has this been tried before? think it would be a change from a regular lupo mirror...also if you have any suggestions what mirrors to put it in would be appreciated to

hi mate, I've seen someone use a audi a6 rear view mirror in a 6n2 polo, i assume you want to change it to a black one...

i got my one out of lupo gti cause that was black..

so either the a6 one or lupo gti one is the options

cheers mate appreciate that, yeah wanted to go for a6 coz its different. do you know who fitted the mirror? if so how did they wire up the self dimming and what not? if you know who it was ill get in contact with them and ask? cheers

For the auto dimming mirror you need an earth. An ignition and a feed from the reverse light. Basically when you turn the ignition on its goes dark for a second then normalizes. Then when a light source from behind into the photosensor at the feont(facing you) and that light source is brighter then the light in front of you(shining into the back sensor(not facing you)) the mirror will dim, and when you select reverse it will be completely clean so you can see behind you. But tbh most people don't use the rearview for reversing.

Quite a clever piece of kit really, but not really necessary.

Also, I'm not sure on this but the Audi mirror may have "mood lighting" so you would need a side light feed also.

and also-the Audi mirrors are also the ones fitted to the earlier Lamborghini gaillardo and 99% of these failed and most exploded... So be warned.
