10" Wheels

Featured Replies

Someone may have asked before, but after a little searching i've found nothing so i figured i better ask...

I'm looking around at wheels at the moment and i wondered would there be any way of running 10 inch wheels on my Polo coupe? i guess i am going to have brake clearance issues if I'm not running spacers etc but i was wondering if there would be any other problems

Thanks in advance :)

Been asked before, answers were "struggle to get brakes to fit, and would look shit"

Haha can't say it was unexpected! Cheers anyway

afaik, if you can find some 8" ones, like the type fitted to trailers you can reverse mount them to clear the brakes

Can I ask why?

8" sounds like the way ;) I am on a mission to run 10's though, i'll find a way

Can I ask why?

why what?

i don't think he's a fan of silly wheel sizes :/

you realise I was taking the micky, when I said about fitting 8" wheels right?.

12s have been fitted before (being serious now, and tbh they don't a lot different to 13s on low profiles)

I mean why would you wanna run 10's? They look small on a mini haha

Well I'm not that messed up, i realise 10 was a pretty long shot so 8 was blatantly a micky take...

Some people are far too serious on here

10's could be summin different. i can get hold of 10" wellers easily so i thought i would see what you guys thought

10s 100% will not fit. even on minis you need smaller brakes from other minis fitted with 10s as std if my memory serves me right (not owned a mini for some years now, but I'm fairly sure the later ones which had 12s as std couldn't run 10s without mods)

the only way you could do it, would be to fit huge spacers, then you would need arch extensions, you'd be changing wheel bearings constantly and to top it all off, it'll look daft too

rockin 10x3's yoo, got them off a wheel barrow ;)

hahahahahah thats class ^

Ok g40jon point taken completely! thanks for the advice! i don't fancy wheel bearings every 5 mins...

Will look shocking, too much arch gap and then you got the brake clearance, even 13" can look shit lol

surely they'd fit if you had whopping great big spacers lol like 100mm , but theres no point with effort

Fit drums all round?

It can probably be done using adaptors to fit the 7.5in discs, then adaptors again to mount the mini calipers direct to the hub. The drive flanges would stick out a fair bit further even if so, even 5x10s would stick out.

You'll have a right laugh trying to get insured on a Polo with circa 20% smaller brakes than VW ever fitted..

Your gearbox and chassis will love you too.

Spacing the wheel right out so that the wheel would clear the disk would give you another issue, your disks would be running extremely close to the road and open to shit hitting them
