Replacing Bushes on Wishbones?

Featured Replies

Has anyone on here replaced the bushes on their wishbones themselves?

Is it something that can be done manually, or would I need a bench mounted press?

I think it's the rear bushes in the front wishbones that have gone.

Thanks in advance!

The easiest way is to buy a new wishbone, complete with bushes. By the time that you have done, you will be glad that you spent the extra money.

I've had a new wishbone on the left side and you still have to buy the bushes separately anyways.. The new bushes that VW send out are what would have been Cupra R bushes. So it's worth changing them both as the standard GTi ones have a large amount of play in them! To answer your question, yes you can change them yourself.
