Hey guys, yesterday, I decided i would refub my alloys, I picked them up from the scrappy with 4 tyres for £80. As you can imagine, being from the scrap yard they were scratched and curbed, I figured it couldn't be that hard and gave it a go.

Getting the Polo off the ground

Sanded down and a bit of filler

First coat of primer

Removed the emblem and found the logo again, thought it would look cool so I'm going to handpaint detail it soon.

Looks really good! Always liked white wheels on a blue car.

Might be worth investing in some axle stands though!

Personally the badges would look great white but not sure on the mirrors, might be worth Photoshopping it first.

Cracking job, i have the same car + colour. love the look of white wheels so when i get my new set I'm thinking of doing something like this! :)

I definetly need some thinner tyres though, anyone know where to get a good deal?

And I could so with some springs or coils if anyone knows a good deal?

I need to use card to stick under the rim. Much quicker than masking tape and newspaper.

What sort of primer did you use? Etch and build? If not, then the paint isn't going to last too long on there. Also, be prepared for your filler to fall out if its just standard body filler.

Finish looks nice, but i know from experience, painted wheels, unless done very well tend to last no longer than 5 minutes!

White on blue looks very good though
