Is this a good price for my friends GTI

Featured Replies

My friend is buying a new A1.

the garage have offered her just £1k for a 51 plate polo GTI in silver with 63k and full service history all done by a local German car specialist .

She is the third owner but her and her sister had it from a few months old.

I'm really surprised - is there no value in these cars?

This is not a for sale - her Audi wont be delivered until late july.

Any thoughts please - she asked me if she is being swindled, but I've no idea on that type of car.

best bet is to have a look around on ebay autotarder ect

Your more than likely fine that most dealers offer half what the cars worth

Would get a lot more than that on autotrader or even on here if it's clean.

thats very cheap. I'd be pushing for a bit more out of them tbh, especially considering shes buying a brand new car

On autotrader or ebay, she could look to get 2400-3000 if depending on the condition! So thats way too stingy an offer.

I hate A1's. Mums just got rid of that piece of crap

youve got to watch it, a colleague of mine has just chopped his 04 reg focus in for a fiesta, the focus had 60k, ffsh and was mint as .......... they gave him a bag for it.........., that will go through the block, at around £1800 all day, then on a forecourt for £2,500. id tell them to put it on the autotrader.

Polo GTi's if they're decent will fetch around £1,500 on a private listing easily you need to watch traders, they will rob you for everything you have, sell it yourself, may be a bit more of a hassle, but you'll reek the rewards!

Thats a real low offer, as others have said. Private sale then no trade in, might get a better deal on the car then

However some people might not be able to afford to have that money tied up in a car, which could sell in 1 day or 6 months. Just depends really.

3k is unrealistsic as there are loads for sale cheap if you look 1500 and you can get a minter....

I've got £1,750 cash for her :D if you want to send me some more details and pictures you can either text or pm me mate 07770253207

thanks for the info huys.

I thought she would have 1500 trade and a liitle more private.

as the dealer has given her nothing off the a1 !!!! I'm loath to let her carry on with the deal.

i'd agree with around the 1,800 mark for the car in good nick

out of honesty, why an A1?

it's just an expensive 6r with one less seat

*not having a dig, it's an honest question, i dont understand the A1 :retard: *

Although 1k does seem quite low, you've got to understand that there's noway they will ever give you retail value of the car when trading it in, as there's just no meat left on the bone for them to make a profit on. As people have said your best off getting her to sell it privately if she wants the real value of the car.
