been on here a wee while so thought id start ma build thread :)

after 4 years i finally decided to sell up and get myself another polo haha,

its a good base for mods i have said with every car I've had that I'm not gonna modify it but with this one I'm not even saying it i know i want to do it lol.

there was a few wee problems with it when i got it

gearbox was noisy

exhaust sounds rather tinny probs an easy fix

and someone had keyed myt onto the bonnet along with hitting the roof with a hammer leaving a huge dent.

heres a few photos of it when i got it

the mods I've done to it to date

i have bought some parts and got them on few bits left to do untill i get more cash but i think its coming along nicely.

the gearbox decided to pack in a week after i got her so i had to source a new one and luckily i found one quite local

scince the gearbox put a dent in my pocket i wasnt able to do anything special with the mods but they are as follows.

exhaust fell off so instead of buying a new one i just decided to get set in about it with the welder then ma dad had a go lol

after that i got a set of 40mm lowering springs and as you can see from the picture they look in bad condition so i decided to take them to ma work and get them sorted out

soaked in paint stripper for a gd few hours

then i powder coated them a nice bright red

then came fitting them that was not hard at all and it only took me a couple of hours

lowered 40mm

then i decided to fit the kamei grill that i got from miniman on here, after i painted it at my work of course lol

and today i am sorting out other wee things, the roof is getting done in red and black checkered i repaired the dent on the roof and based it red and now its awaiting the vinal masking to go on then ill hit it with a coat of black, the bonnet is getting a fresh coat of red aswell and i have got myself a set of mk5 plastic roof bar covers to make it look more smooth,

as for today the mods i have done so far are removed the rubber bump strips on the door and also fitted these

i think they defo make the car look better and it wasnt that hard to make them fit

wee update, i got into the garage last night and made a start on the roof heres a few photos on what i done.

painted engine cover

wing mirrors painted

roof bar covers painted

put the vinal masking on the roof ready for the black

2 coats of mat black

3 coats of clear laquer

3 coats of laquer on the mirrors

3 coats on engine cover

and 3 coats on the badge and bar covers

now comes the stage of demasking and building it all back up lol

i was at it for a few hours and its finnished for now lol, i still think I'm gonna paint the whole car need to wait till i have more time and ill get it into the garage and give it a fresh coat of paint.

Nice polo mate, handy you work in a spray shop lol

well i work in a powder coaters so thats handy for the sake of the wheels and things like that i just do any spray jobs in ma garage lol, got ma wheels today although they look tacky as hell but the good point is theres no kerbing at all so ill get them into ma work and paint the inside of them bright red and paint the face of the wheels black well thats the plan whether it will happen or not I'm not sure as i will probs change my mind lol ,

ill defo keep the updates coming with my progress, ill put a pic up of the wheels tomorrow.

finally get time to post up some more photos haha, not done anything else to the car as I've been sanding wheels like nobodys buisness but heres the pic of the wheels i got, taking them to ma work tomorrow to get a nice frest coat of paint :)

went down to the beach on sunday with my son to fly the plane and decided to take a few photos

wheels are now powdered black gloss I've still got to paint the inside of the wheels red hopefully do that tonight and give them all a good coat of laquer for a great shine :)

end result, although they look matt lol not bothered as a few coats of laquer will sort that out

wee update i decided to paint the wheels a mega bright red on the inside and unfortunitly i dont have any so ill need to wait untill i can get some mixed up, ma dad said he will mix me up a good amount tomorrow at his work that way it will be nice and bright :)

random things ye do when yer bored lol

i know it looks kinda orange but it is the same colour as the lowering springs and that is the colour I'm painting the inside of my wheels :)

had a wee random idea, i have a small robo cutter in the house and i had a wee bit of white vinyl, decided to muck about with some ideas and came up with this for my back window :)

also randomly done the dubway one lol

now that i can do them i think i will get some different coloured vinyl and create some unique designs lol what you all think

I liking the progress so far,

As for the wheels what specs are they, they look well nice

tbh mate i honestly dont know a thing about wheels apart from the size and that these are 4x100 lol i got them free from ma m8 but as you can see they were really tatty when i got them they look well nice done in black but like i said i want it to be as different as i can so thats y I'm painting the inside of the wheels bright red.

i was gonna paint the wheels last night but someone came to us looking to get there car sprayed so were just waiting for the laquer drying on the car and will get the wheels done tomorrow night.

i managed to get 4 tyres on the cheap so the wheels will be wrapped in rubber on monday night :) canny wait to see them on the car.

and i have decided that i will start cutting out small vinyls like the ones I've just done to sell them on here anyone know what section would be best to put these on as they will be made to order not just me making them and selling them lol

well the wheels are now complete :) its been a long road to get the wheels done but I'm over the moon with the outcome lol let me know what u think guys

got the tyres on today i was so happy then i took the car home to fit the wheels and desaster struck,

the centre hole of the wheel did not fit on the hub

phoned my mates dad to see what could be done about it and he told me to take the car up, went up and we had to take a shaving off the centre of the wheel to allow it to fit over the hub

Good progress mate - aren't vauxhall 56.1 and vw 57.1 pain in the arse that lol

to be honest m8 i think you might be right on that one cos i had to make the centre hole bigget to make it fit haha I'm happy with it now though been along the bypass at speed and all is well no shaking or anything seems to run fine so result on that one.

looks really good man :) so lucky you know the right people to help with the spraying and all that :)

only thing i dont like is the grille, but thats just personal taste i suppose :)
