not had much of an update recently so ill let you know whats been happening in the last week, i got a hold of a sharkfin aerial which is now fitted and i came across a little problem with my induction kit pipe, the pipe is sitting on top of the engine mount and whats happened is when i closed the bonnet the filter didnt clear the bonnet and put a dent on the bonnet :(, anyway i decided today to ask my work where is good for making up pipes and i went down a couple of buildings to a company that gets things painted by us,

i asked them if they would be able to make me a pipe to go from the throttle body round the timing belt cover and have the filter mounted just above the alternator so there is plenty of nice flean air getting into the engine, so they tool loads of measurements and i am just awaiting there creation, they have also said that when they make it they are able to make more for anyone i know with polos quite cheap, so when i get mine i will put up on the for sale section the pipes made to fit you are car and i can also get them done in any colour so thats a bonus, i will keep you all posted on the progress soon

wee update i was getting into my car today and part of the drivers seat backrest broke and it just flew back flat so i thought ill go to the scrappies and pick up a seat till i could get a hold of a set of 16v seats and when i got there i came across these beauties lol

totally mint appart from some dog hair but a wee hoover and although they dont need it but ill give them all a good shampoo before i fit them tonight :) over the moon that i found these and think they will look the boy in ma car haha

seats are now cleaned and fitted :) really didnt take long at all had it all done in half an hour so thats a bonus haha,

just need to give the car a wash and a quick hoover out the morra before the cruise the morra night.

been a while fae i had an update so ill let you all know whats bn happening in the last month.

still waiting on my induction pipe but i got alot done to the body lol

found a set of clear indicators quite cheap so i snapped them up and i also got a black sunstrip fitted :)

then i went to the scrappies on satarday to see if i could get a set of centre caps for ma wheels, they didnt have any but with the negative theres always a positive that follows, i found these

couldnt believe i found them and got them at a price i could not refuse

then today i decided to do the front bumper,

removed the old bumper and noticed ma bumper bar has got a massive dent in it but unfortunitly there is knowere open at 6pm to get another so i just fitted the new bumper and ill get a bumper bar at the weekend

i am missing the passenger side upper bumper grill though if anyone has one i could mabe purchase lol

wee bit of progress today got the back bumper on :) heres a couple of photos of it going on and a couple of mine and ma bros polo together.

got my induction pipe on and its awsome :) heres a photo

got offered another one of these so had to rig it up lol

and to top it off for today my speedo decided to stick and it is no longer working so will have to go over the morra and get another one, i wasnt speeding honest lol

My mates speedo never worked in his 106 so it wasnt putting and miles on the car. Not sure if these are the same?

another wee update was out fixing ma induction pipe and painting a few wee bits on the engine bay heres the photo of ot done lol

then decided that a colour change of dash was in order :)

painted matt black, it does look gloss in the photo but it is matt its just not dry lol

i have it fitted and connected back up although by the time i was done it was too dark to take a photo so i will get photo tommoz and post it up

and also done this out of boredom haha

I'm also thinking about my door cards, I've still to paint them black but because my seats are black and gray I'm wondering if i should encorprate this into the door cards too eg leave the speaker pod/door pocket and the armrest gray and the rest black, whats your thoughts on this

loving this, was it hard to take the dash out? take long?

honestly didnt take me long at all mate i will post up a detailed guide on how to remove it later on when i have a bit more time, only took me about an hour and a half to take it out but that was me looking for all the bolts too as the haynes manual doesnt really tell ye much so now that i know how to do it i could easily take a dash out in half an hour :)

so here we go lol not updated this in a long time, not alot been happening really I've done a further few things to it but nothing major yet tbh, cars still to get its respray but heres some photos and a wee list of whats been done

after i slid out at a roundabout and buggered ma nice wheels i had to run on these for a while lol

then i got offered a set of these babies :) they defo suit the car better than the old ones, i still need to paint them but i have a really nice sparkle silver there that I'm gonna do them with

then came the time to sort out the rear bushes and they were destroyed but there all fixed now :)

added a few decals that i made myself :)

thats everything for now but I'm pressing on with the car the now so should have its respray done soon will keep you all posted

wee update lol been too buisy to do anything to it really but i decided i think its time to get the wheels painted :) thats pretty much the only thing I've done to it since my last update but anyhoo heres the photos let me know what you all think :)

started sanding, i was gonna do them with tyres on but i did a wee deal with ma mate if he took the tyres off for me :)

a good few coats of high sparkle silver, and may i ad that this paint was most certainly not cheap :p

i also cut this out just for the hell of it haha

then i had seen a few times on here about fitting a bonnet strut so i decided this was next

went to scrappies and took these from the tailgate on a mk4 golf

removed the top bolt from the bonnet hinge and the wing bolt just at the rubber bonnet rest

had to make the hole a tad bigger to get the bolt to fit but all is good :)

then fitted the strut and it holds the bonnet up fine

the pic shows i have one on either side but i would advise against this as 1 is defanitly more than enough i ended up removing one.

yet another mod to ad to the list lol, been wanting to change the colour of my dials to red for ages but didnt want to go to the hastle of changing the wee tiny leds so i found out that a seat arosa has the same dash board and the clocks are red :) bonus haha so went to the scrappies today and got all the interior lights and switches :) looks much better haha.

wee update of whats been happening, over the last couple of weeks

painted centre consol and some wee trim bits

painted roof lining and fitted 2 new lights to it

cot a new backbox to be fitted today

it failed its mot on a break cylender burst so stipped it all down, cleaned all parts and built back up

looks good dude! i think all the interior needs is a few 6n2 bits... like the handbrake, gearknob/gaitor and steering wheel. then it'll look spot on!

ljag the paint i used was UPOL satin black for the dash 3 cans did the dash and door cards and 4 cans of UPOL matt black for the a,b,c pillars handles and roof lining.

the painted interior parts were done with a colour i got specially mixed up and i was trying out this effect for a few weeks to get it right before i did it on my dash parts if anyone wants to know the step by step on how to do it ill post it up.

as for the wheels the paint was mixed up by ma dad at his work he made it to my exact spec and sparkle i will be giving the car a full respray in the same colour but I'm getting the paint mixed up in a high metal flake estimated cost £300 for a litre of base coat and with that it will need over 7 coats of laquer to buiry the flake but that will get done when i have the car sitting nearly the way i want it,

as for the 6n2 parts, i do want the handbrake but i have fitted the centre consol from an ibiza so its all 1 piece and its a different gaitor bit even at that i noticed my handbrake has been welded to the floor the bolts musthave snapped or something so not going to the hastle of changing it, I'm looking into getting the 6n2 gti steering wheel and to top it off I'm gonna be doing a full seat retrim myself with red leather centres and black bolsters although I'm on the hunt for a set of bucket seats haha, will keep you all posted on the rest of the progress as i go along, cant wait to get it painted :)

another update since I've not had a chance to do one till now lol, alot been going on with the polo and other things :) as always take a look at the photos and let me know what u think of the progress

first off i had to get the wheels redone as i booked it in for to get tyres changed and they wrecked every rim i was fuming but anyway fresh paintjob :)

i was getting fed up of the dash as i hadnt put enough paint on it and it had faded etc so this morning i got up early and got stripping the interior out again

half out dash lol it got caught on the heter pipes to which i ended up ripping out in a moment of rage (woops)

and the dash painted with a new paint 2 pack polyurithane :) it will never come off haha

and because i was doing the rest of the dash i thought a colour change for the accent pieces was in order so i got this paint specially mixed up a whole £280 of it lol which was just enough to do them, fire red pearl, cant be matched as i made it myself :)

well anyhoo thats the updates for the now i look forward to seeing your comments and i will upload the photos of the dash when its all built back up :)
