So I jumped on the 'scene' bandwagon and bought a Eunos Roaster/Miata/MX5 whatever you wanna call it.

My corrado was costing too much to run, having to fix it all the time also meant I had no time to do anything but work and repair it. I bought this Roadster to primarily learn to skid in, and its going pretty good at the moment! Only had a couple of issues with it so far which were simple fixes!

So I hunted for a little while and found this, a 1992 (imported 2008) Eunos Roadster S-special (with rare leather interior!)

215k km's (though this doesnt show at all!)

Car spec as it stands now-

1992 1.6 Eunos Roadster in Classic Red,

Meister-R Zeta-S Coilovers,

Rota Grid V 15x8 ET0 Alloys,

Toyo Proxes T1R 195/45/15'' tyres,

Vindi Rear Spoiler,

Polo 6N 8V front splitter,

Tegiwa Front plate relocater,

Carbing Rollbar (4 point),

Cobra Imola 2 Fibreglass seat, sidemounted straight to the floor with seat humps removed from chassis (ultra lows),

Sparco 330mm Dished steering wheel,

Welded 1.6 Open diff (spare LSD incase of breakages),

Universal Intercoolers 50mm Aluminium Radiator,

Custom induction setup,

HKS cat-back exhaust,

Ebay de-cat pipe,

Super-pro Poly diff void fillers,

Drift button,

Uprated door speakers and headunit.

Next up is a Garage Vary front splitter, and silicone radiator hose kit, and she will be done for now. Also saving for a Turbo conversion which will happen at some point!

Here are a few pictures of how it started and upto recently (has different seats and rollbar, more lows and some minor bodywork adjustments removed front badge and filled and painted numberplate holes)

I would recommend one to anyone.

They drive like nothing else I have driven, not that quick, but the handling is sublime. Parts are so so cheap too, and they are a piece of piss to fix, engines go on forever. Can turbo them to 200Bhp for about £250-700 depending on engine management choices.

nice mate! i woulda bought one if i could have insured it! i just dont like the backend on them thats all :/

Ah the backend on mine is much improved over stock, the vindi spoilers make a huge difference in my eyes, same as this-

How much did you pay for it then dude?

yeahhh i agree on the spoiler, changes the look a great deal, there just a little stumpy for me, id still love to own one mind. was next to a supercharged one a while back and it shifted!

Very nice. Would have one of these in a second. So nice to drive too, simple and fun!

Awesome looking roadster! Everyone needs a Vindi spoiler on their MX5s :)

I paid £825, which is a bargain for a rust free one!

Looked at a few £1k+ ones with rotting sills, one was terrible and the dealer wouldn't shift from there £1400 asking price! It really is worth shopping around with these, get one with good bodywork, dont worry about the mechanicals too much as they never really go wrong lol.

£825! Bargain of the century. I'm considering one of these or a G for my next daily.

As much as I like Polo's, especially G40's I'd recommend one of these over one anyday. Different league in terms of driveability and handling over a Polo, even if it's not as fast in a straight line!

Looks proper sweet on those rims.

I'm an MX-5 man through and through.

I've had 4 - amazing cars to drive, and on a summers day with some tunes they are a joy.

Nothing goes wrong and FI is easy as its a version of the 323 4x4 GTX turbo rally cars engine so they are almost a FI engine.

standard engines are good for 250bhp and the gear box for about 300bhp which makes for a lot of fun and you can FI them really cheaply.

I'm still a mod on mx5nutz but I'm having a bit of a break. I was the original mod on the mx-5 owners club forum and was for many years but i wanted to go a little more modified route.

Hope you enjoy the car.

Cheers

Quick question - does your roll bar cut through the rear shelf or has it spreader plates on the shelf?

I'm currently looking at getting one of these :)

Yeh rollbar goes through parcel shelf to chassis, front legs go behind seats. Got rid of my trlane bar because it wasn't wide enough, if you rolled you'd still hit your head, kinda pointless as roll bars really!

I really want one of these but I have to have four seats :(

A mate bought one of these about a month ago, it was up for sale a couple of weeks later because it was too slow... Now the rains come be don't wanna get rid of it

Over the weekend we're going to find a nice wet deserted car park to have a bit of fun in. Must admit it is really nice to drive but that was just general driving rather than a spirited drive so I'm yet to see of they live up to their reputation, but I did enjoy poncing around in it

Looks dope

the only problem with that mk2 is it has rota cups and they weigh far to much. These cars are mega sensitive to wheel weights if you want them to really drive well. (4 wheel alignments and tyre pressures and tyres quality as well)

The original came with very light wheels- (10- 13 lbs each) later official uk cars often came with wheels sourced here and they didnt follow the plan.

You might think I'm getting a bit picky but I've known hundreds of 5 owners and while some will say its fine they are wrong, it makes a big difference.

However, if its looks you want then i totally get that not everyone will want the same thing.

cool, exactly my thoughts on the trlane bars from what I have seen in pics.

hope you like the car.

if you are thinking of more power id go turbo.

I've done one NA build, one turbo build and two different supercharger builds and the turbo one was by far my fav. Although so much depends on the set up etc.

a pal of mine has a mk2 miata turbo (by Bell Engineering in seattle) and thats a hoot to drive he is putting out 216 at the wheels with a bit more to extract. another mate has just bought a red eunos like yours too. its only a matter of time till i bite the bullet.

Nice ! Very jealous! Also rare to see a red one thats not pink!
