Hi guys,

I'm new on the polo scene, last car was a MK2 Golf but I can't afford insurance on my own this year so I got myself a 6N polo in Dragon Green, 62k on clock 1.4 CL

Here are some pictures of how it is at the minute feeling sorry for itself as I can't drive it just yet :(

Best way to treat/remove?

Also as you can see my wheels are a bit rusty, I'm thinking of kurusting them and doing them black with a dragon green rim?

Bumper strips need to come off too! Do they have holes behind them?

I am bit of a noob with the polo's so please bare with me but I have many plans for this :)

no holes behind the side trims. just sticky poop toffee wheel will sort this. sometimes the paint has faded so be careful.

the rust bubbles will obv need cutting out if too bad or simply just removed with sanding/grinding back and filling and painting :( or buy some stickers to cover it :p

ill find you a pic of a dragon green 6n 5 door what is stunning in my eyes lol give you some ideas.

but like most people will say. DO WHAT YOU WANT ITS YOUR CAR, F*CK THE HATERS

I'm waiting till the "British Summer" arrives at some point so I can give her a clean then I will remove the bumper strips!

The rust bubbles I'm also going to have a look into and get them removed.

As of today I now work at Euro Car Parts too so the staff discount is going to help getting this real fresh!

I love Dragon Green.. I always said if I was going to get a polo it would have to be that colour so i'm stoked I've got one!

I'm simply just thinking of lowering it a bit on some g60's for now and making it look smooth and fresh, I'm also in the process of building a full Planet Audio ICE system with amplified components and tweeters in the front and same in the rear door cards when I can find some nice identical ones to cut into!

Also do people think a sub in the side bits of the boot is ok rather than a box in my boot or will it loose sound?

Loving the polo dude looks like you could be onto something nice looking forward to seeing how this goes,

with the sub at the side i personally think you will not have enough space there so will probably have rubbish sound quality but dont quote me on that lol but yeah good luck man :-)

Saw this car last night after Dan picked up some parts from me.

Looks like it's a clean car, hardly any rust for a 6n at that age too :)

UPDATES

Since my last post I've been real busy, there has been ups & downs but the car is starting off now and I am starting to vision what I want it to look like!

So... last week (I think) I made a trip to Daz's (LiquidIce) and purchased anything I could from his garage of 6n stuff :p

This included a grill, lights and a parcel shelf with 6x9s..

So yeh It was my birthday on Friday, my mum woke me up that morning with a present for me, not one I was expecting.. :

So ye a van driver had gone down the side of my car, scratched my windows and took off my wing mirror, was absolutely fuming..

The worst thing was I was driving to Scarborough in 2 hours time for the weekend so I jumped in the car (naughty without a driver mirror I know) and got to my local scrappy and then it looked like this for the weekend :

*Sad face*

BUT.... as we speak I am just letting my wing mirrors dry before I lacquer them as they have gone Black :)

What's next?

Refurbing my steelies or picking up a set of G60's.

Lowering it.

Touching up the paint and adding a bit of audio.

16v Bumpers and clear side repeaters.

It's a slow but steady build thread and over the summer the car will really come alive!

Ok so last night in the rain i slammed on for a car that cut me up.. my wheels locked up and i hit the back of a car..

Decided to swerve the insurance and pay upfront for his car to be fixed.

Here is the damage of mine:

Right now I need a new wing and bumper if people can help out to keep costs down I would be most grateful!

:/ not having much luck! i loved my 6n was dragon green too! there quite easy to pick up body panels in the same colour. Its only a minor setback so keep going!

Bad luck there, but nice base never the less as long as the repainted panels will match up nicely with the rest of the car it will be fine keep up the good work there. BTW so jealous that you have a sunroof :(

Getting regular updates from Dan on this. Looking good so far :) Shame about the crash and then the cock of a copper the next night.

Bad things come in threes and wing mirror, crash and copper.. i reckon things are looking up now!

Yeh well updates are as follows:

The guy I hit has been paid off, cost me a wack but hey ho!

I managed to salvage some red parts from local scrappy's and the car is currently in the bodyshop being refurbed and colour matched.

Last night the police did me for driving it in a state to the garage, £30 fine me and took the MOT off my car as they classified it unsafe, however he did give me a police escort to the garage as I refused to pay the recovery fee and spoke very nicely to him!

So as it stands the car is just being put back together and hopefully going in for its MOT on saturday then I can be back on the road again £600 later :/
