Been quite a while since I last updated this thread. I'm in the process of uploading pics and writing quite a bit of things that I've done to her and things that will be coming. Some bad time and some

Well I've left this for abit to long now time for an update :)

Bit of bad news first I had noticed some oil leaking but not from my block or g/box..... it was my damper...

so ordered a new one costing less that 20 notes for it delivered too and also stripped the thread on the nearside track rod end so my mate managed to find one for £7.50 :D and had it the same day too so everything was going well.

now GOOD news me and the same lad MR harry started on fitting my lowering springs to the car yesterday and were met by some problems one being that f'ing track rod end lol

however we got the strut out (and yes when people on here say you need ALOT of leverage they aint lying!!) and the castle style nut holding the top mount on stuck firm even against a hammer and chisel lol so that got abandoned over night.

now today he managed to get my track rod end (much to my surprise lol) and i went off to find either the tool for the castle nuts or just more castle nuts incase of fucking them too bad on removal... however I went to a VW specialist near by and I asked about them and he went in to the back and put two infront of me on the desk and said I could have them for free!!! what a fooking leg-end he was!!!

so we got back persevered and in 6 hours and a few tab brakes we had the car lowered!!!!!

just a sneaky peek untill tomorrow so i can give it a wash n take some decent pics of it :D

Big tyres!

  • Author

yeah they be a 60 profile but they have alot of buldge lol will be going with 175/50(55) or somthing around that.

See if you got those allycats you're a 'nice person', I've been wanting them for a long time!

I'm sure they'll go better on your car than mine though :)

  • Author

:p lets just say, if i ever have to sell these, ill keep you in mind bud ;)

(the jack is holdding it up slightly btw)

CAM00241.jpg

damn son!

I'd say you're well pleased with them.

i'd get 165/55/13 tyres for those really, 175's will always look a little too bulgy, i dont quite like how my 175/50's are on my front 7j cults and these will only be 5.5 or 6j wont they?

i do like allycats though! i wish they made more friendly offsets for the wider ones

  • Author

oh I'm happy with them like :D espesh the price i got them for plus 2 decent tires with 5mm tread on each lol

they need some work to bring them back to glory again but not much :D

aii these are 5.5j.. so will 165 give a much straighter side wall?

go on, give it a straight sidewall. This doesn't need stretch!

  • Author

I dont want stretch :) I like country roads too much lol

anyways i wanted a retro look not new euro look, i dont want to follow the herd i aint no sheep lmao ;)
