anyways i wanted a retro look not new euro look, i dont want to follow the herd i aint no sheep lmao

stretch on a 5.5j is very difficult anyway i had 13x6 revolutions with 165/55 tyres and they had straight sidewalls so yours will bulge ever so slightly more but will be much better than the donuts you have on now anyway

the stretch and going fast rumour is rubbish, if your tyres are moving side to side that much you need to check your tyre pressures are above 5psi

dont get into talking or thinking about certain "looks" just do what you want to it, if you like allycats fit allycats, if you want a straight sidewall fit 165 or 155 tyres, easy :-)

dont get me wrong stretch on certain cars looks good but just not for me lol

and i wouldnt of travelled over 200 miles there n back if i didnt

yeah id rather have straight sidewalls than those Hemorrhoid cushions that are on now haha 165 it is then :)

So another update..

went to Rotherham the other day to pick up some late spec lights :) polo survived what ended up to be a 320 mile round trip lol was a good day out tho...

anyway got them fitted (sorry car really needed a clean after its trip lol)

Also while I was on realised that my tires were getting low so I put my Astra mk3 wheels on (prev on my 6n2)

Just untill I get my Allycats finished and got them some fresh rubber

but 195/50/15s are well.. a tight fit especially with an E.T. 46 o_O

they will be getting re painted as the blue looks a little odd I think lol

I quite like those astra steels. I've always wondered why more people dont use them. Doesnt look to bad in the colours they are. If you respray them, might i recommend a dark metallic grey/ anthracite :-)

Thats exactly what shall be happening lol going to try and get some of the vw grey you see mk3 g40s in?

I've always liked the style too just trying to keep it a little different from the normal vw steels you see :)

and i thought Id try getting the polo into a show and shine comp and I was accepted!!!!!

so now just going to try and get the car the best it can be for the comp on the 2nd of December. Means I'm going to be busy as hell trying to get the alloys done and tyres put on lol

Tyres have been bought for the alloys now

so on the rear ill be running 185/60/13s and the fronts on 175/60/13s

to be honest i put the two on that have tyres already on and I like how it looks with the buldge side walls :) looks so mean from the front and it suits it rather well.

just finishing off the last 2 alloys then photos shall be reviled....

well after endless searching for flat seated bolts that are impossible to find in M12 x 1.5 I got some tapered 40mm and 30mm bolts and had some rather funky washers made up for them...
