Hi I've recently purchased a Golf GTi Diesil more door.

It is an import with the winter pack, 6 speed and heated seats. It kind of reminds me of my G40 which I hear has been crashed since my ownership and left to rot in someones back garden.

Anyway the time has come to renew my insurance and the mongtards at Admiral have it currently classed it as an Anniversary PD insured as a group 31 vehicle.

There is no way that this is an anniversary but it may be a 150, the previous owner certainly thought it was and to his credit the kick from the turbo is silly.

How can I verify what this car actually is (115, 130, 150), I have tried the main dealer but they either can't or won't disclose the information, which is strange because the oil requirements are supposedly different for these models.

Not a gti of its diesel...... tdi? Or gt tdi? I will stand corrected if someone wants to shout at me..

Vw did badge some TDI's as GTI's, basicaly more pokey dieseal lump with the gti extras :)

Just done a check and it's coming up as a red ford ka :s

There should be a sticker in the boot (somewhere near the spare wheel) with the colour code, power in kW and some other information. Find out the kW figure and times that by 1.36 and you will get a BHP figure. :)

it is definitely a  golf gt tdi 150 from the info you've pm'd me

I'm sure my bora had it on the log book? but if it's got matching badges on the boot and engine cover, with 6 speed pretty sure most are 130 and 150...

What's the engine code? On cambelt cover, in service book and sticker in boot.

AJM - 115

ASZ - 130

ARL - 150

In the uk the 150s were badged as all red lettering for the TDI, but I guess yours doesn't have that?

Mine is an import with gti in silver written on the back. I have seen a few gti's with a red i on the diesil's also. My car is also a proper 5 seater with a retractable seatbelt in the rear middle and a headrest, it therfore doesn't have a rear arm rest like most uk models but it does have electric windows in the back.

The engine code is arl and it has a mahoosive front mount intercooler which i discovered yesterday.

If it's got a front mount intercooler then it's definately a 150. Especially as your engine code is ARL
