Yeah but its not the SHIT like TPS, Its just not real parts...

TPS only stock genuine VAG stuff, and if the part has been made obsolete then they can't get them :(

You find this a lot with G40 parts. Unfortunately a lot of stuff is in between being made obsolete by the factory, and being picked up to be made by VW heritage.

So its best just not going for VAG, And making due with what i can find, The chances off somebody having these parts on here for me are LOW.

Get yourself a clutch cable from GSF, never had any bother with the quality of them.

I will :) Thanks anyway!

welcome to my world... but I always go to VW first and see what they can get I was shocked that I could still get a driver rear quarter for it!! :)

Ash just go to Scrappy mate! Everytime lol!

So it was you that bought the last one in the world

TPS is VW? Just the trade part of it?

That was the illusion i was under? TPS is part of the VW dealer in Wolverhampton. All one thing.

If TPS cant get it, then neither can VW

Also to use TPS you need to be in the trade? I always use them, but get my mate at Honda to order the bits for me then just go and collect with the cash.

TPS isn't just trade, anyone can buy from there.

Bloody expensive, i needed a little plastic breather pipe for a 1.8 20v and they wanted nearly £25! WTF

To order parts at discount you're supposed to be a registered business to setup an account. The discount's fairly poor though 5-8% at best, though service stuff is cheap, e.g. 5l of Synta Silver is £9. You can often get the discount from the dealer's parts counter anyway if you're ordering a stack of stuff.

I've been amazed over the last couple of years how much 86C Polo stuff has gone obsolete, but it's good that VW Heritage are picking some bits up. Mind you, the VAG prices for the stuff that you can get have gone through the roof on some items - e.g. I wanted a new tailgate for my rebuild, used to be €200 a few years back (so a reasonable price in £££) - now it's pretty much £300 with the VAT.

Its stupid, I expected them to have the stuff i wanted, I'll have to go non VAG !

A lot of TPS places will sell things to public they're not meant to.

You should be a trader really but theyll get round it for you, & it's shit discount unless you spend a LOT (ie you have your own garage) but its still cheaper then VW.

Don't manufacturers only have to stock parts for like 10 years anyway?

Oh i see, Well he said he could have got me anything i needed, Well how come i've heard people getting parts on here for the Coupes from TPS!

Maybe they ran out? Maybe you aint spending enough money to justify them making the effort to track that part down

I have VW throttle & clutch cables as spares. dont trust GSF!!!

TPS isn't just trade, anyone can buy from there.

Not what i got told

They wouldn't serve me before because i wasn't in a trade...

they obviously dont like you! they will sell to the public and if you buy enough from there they will end up giving you trade discount

pffft, whats not to like?

They just sent me to the normal VW parts part, next door.

Our TPS counter won't sell to individuals now. It's fine though as the dealer is just up the road and it's all owned and run by the same people. So six and half a dozen really.
