I've seen a set of wheels I fancy getting but the seller is saying they are ET2.5. Have I got any chance at all getting these onto a mk2 coupe?

Can anyone identify what they are? I've been told they're 205mm wide, from the inside face where the wheel touches the hub to the extreme inside edge is 105 mm and to the outside edge is 100mm giving 2.5mm positive offset.

So they're 8" wide then? 205mm/25 = 8.2

They don't look like they'd be ET2.5, did he not mean ET25?

Well he said they're 7j but from extreme edge to extreme edge is 205mm.

Inside edge to hub = 105mm

Outside edge to hub = 100mm

That's ET 2.5 then? I might have worked out the offset wrongly though.

Yeah I think they're mahle reps! Can't find out exactly what they are though to get a definitive offset value. They're made in Australia apparently :s

Are you basing thuis on knowing what the wheels are as based on figures above they would be et 2.5...

Teg just buy them if they're not right just sell them on or get bodgy...

Based on the info above, i'm sure they're not 6.5 or 7.5 ins wide, even though the thickness of the rim varies and the thickness of the inner can vary from the outer with some rims. This has an affect on all measurements involved, so there's some estimation.

With the tyres on it's not possible to know exactly, but going on the figures there, there's a fraction more meat on one side of the wheel and they're 7s.

The offset i measure on inner rim, as with the width, if i'm not correct then a wheel is measured on two different widths - if so i'll be happy to take the wrap for that. The half millimeter is gonna be one side or other, i guessed toward positive because it's a very low offset for the design of wheel and it is a positive offset wheel after all.

I'm probably not spot-on with the offset but the width i'm fairly sure of (i do know the width of one 1991 Polo wheel arch varies from one car to another by a good 2mm though..).

I don't know the wheel, it does look old skool BMW but i'm not convinced, wouldn't make complete sense as a 4-stud 14in unit although i'm on anorak on late performance E21's, but the pattern is designed primarily for a 5-stud fitment.

I don't think it's a factory wheel, will be interesting to find out where they're from.

Judging by what Mikey said about the wheels looking suited for 5 stud....

Could they possibly be Porsche Baskets welded and redrilled?
