Cheers had all the mount tig welded so the welds looks amazing plus the mount looks more like it should be there

Yea the new mount should be alot stonger as all the weight is pulling down on a strong part of the leg and not hanging off the end like before

cheers mate should be somthing different as you carnt really do it if your using the stock 6n engine mount on the drivers side

well haven't updated this for a while but i have been working away finishing bit and bobs up in between re spraying my passat

first up managed to get a hydrolics pedal box of a fellow CP member which i modded to take the a throttle cable pedal instead of DBW

next up i had to mod the bulk head to take the clutch master cylinder, i have seen a some people just wack a big hole to allow it through but i wanted to do something a bit nicer looking so that you could almost miss it is on hydrolic clutch

didnt get any pictures of the makeing of this but basicly i cut the bulk head to allow the master cylinder to come into the engine bay then fenched it in with to holes for fluid in and out

managed to get it to blend quite nicely into the bulk head so it lookes very factory IMO

i also got a motorbike resivoir to use (not sure its goign to be big enough but i hope it will work)

with that pritty much finished i was next onto the passenger side engine mount which is pritty much finished now has been the hardest part so far on the conversion but iam happy how its looking (more pictures to come once its finished completly)

now once i was able to hang the engine by its self with out the craine i needed to make sure everything fitted. i have had the front end on previously but never re fitted the bonnet scince i started the conversion. i was pritty confident it would fit but had to make sure so i completly bulit the front of the car to find out, was very happy to find out it did all fit

yep altho it will most likly need the pedal box out to change it

Ah only just had a proper look at this, awesome progress mate, nice to actually see someone doing what they set out to - work looks top notch too which is refreshing :) love some good workmanship

Thought I would bump this back up works been a bit slow with it recently but things are getting there now

Engine bay is all smoothed and painted and currently making new brake lines

Engine has gone to the builders for some work

LSD has been ordered then the box can go off for a freshen up

All suspention should be off to the power coaters in a week or two

No pictures ATM but they will follow

Well it's been a while from the last time I updated this but work has been done although slower than I would hope but it getting there

First off the bay is painted and all new brake lines have been made and some bits painted

I have also started to polish up the body work

Next I manged to get a non pas steering rack so I could delete the pas system and also got the seem welded frame and wish bones back for the powder coaters and fitted up with powerflex bushes all round

I also managed to win a large core alloy rad for a mk3 golf gti on eBay for £44 I set about making it se in the space available in the polos front end it took quite a bit of chopping and will need some custom brackets but it fits and also sit a lot further forward to clear space for the oil filter on the abf engine. There is also room for the oil cooler. And it also leaves a big hole at the top to feed the throttle bodies

That's it for the minute I have some more bits ready for the powder coaters and the engine is currently been rebuilt so hopefully some updates soon

if you have any probs with the mk3 radiator when you come to plumb it all in the mk2 16v gti has a slightly smaller radiator but is a twin core and fits very nicely
