Actually done a bit today,

Fitted bonnet lifters off 6n (YAY something not broken)

Started to clean up new box, and removed fifth gear to be replaced with a longer one :)

Need to dig another box out of garage and steal fifth from it.

Not sure whether to paint box black or gun metal grey, the silverish colour I did before was too light IMO.

are you sure ypr bonnet will close with the lifters fitted how thay are in the pic, only reason i mention is because i put my car back together today and had to fit the lifter in the hole closest to the windscreen for the bonnet to close.

Finally got my rear brake adjusters, so rear shoe setups are built up, all new springs and adjusters etc :)

just gonna steal 5th out of a 1.4 box i have,

I have a CJC box (1.3 8v 6n) which is same ratios as what I had in the 6n, 5th gear with that would be 58mph@3000rpm, 77mph@4000rpm

With the 1.4 5th it should be 66mph@3000rpm, 88mph@4000rpm.

so about 3200rpm would be 72mph, on 185/50/14. sounds better for motorway and such, just hopefully the rev drop wont be too much, but 5th in the 1.4 box when i ran that on 195/45/15 was ok so should be alright!

They're coated max & lacquered, basically were blasted when i got them kinda bought them in excitement, they were rough, well the faces were, so blasted again then again, they are smoother than they were. Baked to de'air the casting, coated & wet lacquered.

From like 1m they look ok, gonna bang some wax on them and fit tyres.

& I'd want gold 14x6 compo's I think!
