Got a mk2 engine loom, hopefully is plug and play to the mk3 fuse box!

What gearbox is that?

Have you had it refurbed because it looks brand new and clean haha!

Don't tell me you just painted it :p

What'd be the need in refurbing a working gearbox?

Looks sick bro, really does.

Excited to see this in the car tbh. Your getting closer to realising why 6n's are gay

Well like say your box knackers, You send it away to a specialist and they sort it out, I thought the box might have been playing up!

Do you not read haha?

There's posts and pictures of me obtaining a donor box, the box clean, some new seals, me swapping fifth, and it being painted and such haha.

Toby I hope so, will be make or break tbh between keeping it or buying a new car!

Need to look at this mk2 loom!

yoyo biatches!

HOPEFULLY have my coilovers next week, meaning next weekend last couple of bits of prep, then maybe have the wed - mon off and sort this shit out!

may go do majority of my wiring this weekend and drown fucking everything in penetrating spray haha

Do it! Just fitted your old 6N coilovers to the breadvan, massive reverse rake now

Got to take them back off tomorrow to fit the helpers as they're fully adjusted right to the top!

Doing wiring now :)

Everything's routed in just making connections now.

Then when I swap engine just need to swap loom to the mk2 one :) PROGRESS

ACTUAL REAL LIFE PROGRESS.

wired up:

Fuel pump

Ignition for coil

AFR gauge

Routed pipe for fire extinguisher

Cable for extinguisher

Choke cable

Need a new inertia switch as crashing ripped the other one off the bulkhead

Tidied up for the day...

Limiter in ready too..

Need:

Gearbox oil

Engine oil

Coolant

Rad temp switch

THAT IS ALL

  • Author

Ordered:

Gearbox oil

Engine Oil

Coolant

Rad fan switch

Steering rack boot

Bosch batt, was one of the best CCA ones i could find lol.

So when I get my coilovers, i need to check the thread of top nuts to make sure I can use the Bonarth top mounts, press the wheel bearings and drive flanges in.

Other than that, literally everything is ready I think!

This week hopefully:

Paint lower sills

Prep + paint slam pannel

Drown everything in penetrating fluid

Put the mk2 bay harness on a diet

If I have coilovers by the end of this week, hopefully swap engines the weekend after next :)

WOW, Sick work man!

In that last pic of your engine there appears to be some sort of plug on your carb's diaphram vent port..? That'd be restrictive to the operation of the slides/needles. Is it just to protect whilst the engine is out the car? Should just be able to fold/turn it right downwards.

The large one in the centre mikey?

It's a piece of very thin breathable material cable tied on to stop shit getting in, isn't a blank :)

Good progress dude!

not going too bad hope you get it all done and swapped over in one weekend and if you still need an inertia cut off switch i have a few you can have one £12.50 posted mate let me know

  • Author

£12.50?! I have loads they're just not at home.

Updates later ;) i love sunshine!

Nozzle in place too, obviously the bay will be thoroughly cleaned when engine is out

Not much more I can do tbh'

sills come up well, i never realised mk3 sill trims only went half way down, mk2's go all the way :)
