No did I fuck, if id have used spray the entire car/wheels/windows would be white too loool.

It's the one out the 6n, I know the owner of lifeline

Lol, nice.

Will have to invest in something similar for the coupe!

Did you buy the extingisher kit or can you make them ..

By the looks off it it wouldnt be that hard to make one up tbf ..

Bought it, it's an FIA approved system for Motorsport :)

Chopped bits out the mk2 loom I don't need :) winning.

Also drowned things in penetrating spray too haha

Need paint for slam panel, can I just paint colour onto red oxide primer?

Edited by harris.racing

flat it back with 800 or higher first and yeah.. better off using a simular colour primer for base paint though

I like the centre console panel. Looks really tidy.

The extinguisher kit I'm thinking of getting has two nozzles, which i think is a bit overkill for the polo's engine bay

Are you using the immobilizer with the carb setup?

Before anyone says yes you can close the door

I'm saying nuffin.

Yeah I'm gonna run two nozzles, need to get some more pipe, already have another nozzle and the t piece. We fit 6-8 on cars that we prep at work tbh lol.

Race cars often have one in bay and one in footwell to protect driver etc.

I have several methods of immobilisation mate, I just don't discuss or make them visable

Dont blame you for not discussing them tbh, you never know who's reading what.

Ye, i know some are mounted up on the roll cage etc.

the guy supplying mine has pictures of various setups depending on the amount of jets/size of setup.

On the polo he suggested one where your is, then the other diagonally opposite to give full coverage.

Yeah, the nozzles have a 90 degree spread I think.

One front corner will cover exhaust mani etc too :)

And even if you knew about my immobs, trying to chop and stick wires together would just blow many fuses and leave you in a worser situation ahha

where you get the extinguisher kit from Yarris?

I want one :)

Ull want white primer for white paint mate.

Otherwise ull need about a million coats of basecoat before its actually white.

Also, inertia switch, where you get um?

Shush on my thread.

Just sat waiting for my colour match to be made up.

lol at everyone suddely getting fire extingushers, "Its only a polo" will be the next comment.

Will it be a finished car at action then dude?

i already have one. but nothing like this with nozzles in the bay :)

Wooo paint! lol

I have one in the car too, stupid not to.

Even more vital when you spunk money on things like old nick does here!

It is only a polo and i'll be fucked if I'm burning alive in one! A fire extinguisher is interchangeable between cars as nick has proven.

shut up max.

Extinguisher because carbs, simple.

And max, it should defo be at action.

Booked the end of next week off for engine conversion, suspension or not.

I don't just leave my car in a garage somewhere when I get bored, this is a daily remember!

I'm going to paint now.

I know nothing about bodywork but wish me luck

End of this week or the one next to action? :shock:8-)

"and i'll be fucked if I'm burning alive in one!" - If only

Back on topic lads....

TBH having seen how easy a modern fuel injected car can burst into flames for no reason, it makes sense when we are running cars with modified fuel systems.

And with bike carbs we have 4 mini fuel tanks in that engine bay, and last thing i would want to do is try and open the bonnet enough to get a handheld under.

Aye, there should be a fire extingusher in any car. Not so much for issues with the fuelling system, but electrical fires.

There's SO much wiring in modern vehicles, its ridiculous!

weighing a modern car in is so much more effort lol .. Stripping copper wires out of them ;) lol

Well update on painting:

I hate bodywork.

I cannot be bothered.

Old VWs need to rot away and die.

I don't care if the slam panel looks shit.

Ou revoir
