Harris' Mk2f CL Coupe

I don't want to go "pipewerx"

Tbh they're all gonna be kinda the same, the length is dictated by the car, it's gonna be bent to the same shape.

As long as they can weld its fine.

I'll be going to custom chrome or a local Motorsport company I know who make cages and the silencers one off to suit, they're a custom fabrication company not a bloke who buys eBay backboxes and tacks a system together

 that ''guy'' is Ian birch and was one of the big dogs at Blue flame in St.Helens before they shut up shop, these aint no ebay boxes.

Also it was just a suggestion, hence me saying:

unless you know someone local thats good? Just a heads up if you dont mind the travel

Chill Nick :p

Ben, let's be honest, I ain't gonna treck up north for a fucking exhaust lol.

And I wasn't suggesting it was eBay tat.

Quality of welds, quality of metal.

One day Ben, I want to be as good as you

Super lol

What's the engine plans after this is in and running then? Sacking off the AEE or what?

Dunno really. Might buy a sensible car for daily use tbf.

Just been tidying up in garage and bedroom, so many new bits!

Should have coilies tomorrow too! Just need to check threads for top nuts and that should be everything, just need to borrow a welder

You could borrow one of mine, if you didn't live 100000 miles away!

Come down :)

No thanks :-)

Wouldn't let you touch my TIG anyway.

Update later which has made me excited and keen.

Do we really want to know what you've done :puke:

Max have u finished my coilies yet?? :p haha

Can't start them until i've done mine dude, don't know how that guy cut the steering arms off with a dremel, every 10 seconds the disk needed changing, and it had hardly cut anything!

Gonna try this weekend with the angle grinder!

Max get them in a lathe on a real slow speed and turn the weld away

Lol max I'm only kidding

Not a bad idea at all really. Will try that tomorrow!

Nice one dude, your not as stupid as everyone thinks!

Lol max I'm only kidding

I know dude :-)

Scratch that nick, you cant turn the welds off as they're slightly in-board of the arms, would end up machining them off. :-(

Iv not looked tbh mate, I'd probably use a parting tool as its thinner and you can go straight onto the workpiece

Angle grinder lol

Wouldn't work with how slow you'd have to have the spindle speed. It would just dig and snap the tool.

Angle grinder with a smaller slitting wheel me thinks!

Tried cutting it with the tig welder, using it as a plasma cutter, worked a treat at first

I'd have a bash haha. Wang it on 1000rpm and stand well back from the massively unbalanced hub swinging round

So, this evening I have done a bit again :)

Fitted gbox (on my own Toby, I didn't need help) & starter.

Lifting the engine off the stand on my own was a good crack, still alive mind

Fitted the 6n starter loom too, had to change a connector for the mk3 alternator

Engines virtually ready to go in, some pics to prove this..

Don't know why carbs look on the piss lol.
