my idea consists of steel tube going across like before and the ends welded on at the correct angle so it will fit Nick! with the added bonus of angles going to the bottom of the chassis leg where the radiator bar lives. much better.

you have to bring the steel though as i aint got none left- only plate.

How much to powder coat a rear beam? and do they beadblast it before?

Different places have different methods,

Shot/sand/bead/vapour/soda blasting or acid dipping.

I need the beam, engine mounts, lower brace and a few other brackets etc just doing black as powdercoat is more durable than paint!

Hopefully I'll get all the bits I need soon and will get done!

That's why I was looking at getting it powdercoated , get a replacement beam, send it away, hopefully bead blasted then powdercoated, fit powerflex bushes and then sling it onto the car just need new disc brake stub axles. The handbrake cables have been sourced from Mr RS251 (Robert Summerill) "on here" paid for 12 days ago, but so far he's ignoring any email contact

Minuscule update:

Built up my new TCAs with poly..

Also been messing around with IDEAS for a lower brace..

The first is currently on the car and is literally just a mockup, was gonna run two bolts either side but half hour break at work is limiting :)

Anyway it's 25mm tube with a 3mm wall pressed flat and bolted on.

Issues are that I think it sits too close to the ARB, well it would with ARB blocks I think..

Would need cutting to length properly and seams welding etc but yeah..

Another idea is like the GED bar things with a 90 deg bracket.

These are a bit longer to offset the brace to clear the ARB better.

Will bolt them on and weld the brace in place on the car, will be 25mm tube 4mm wall thickness..

Pens respresent the Bar if it isn't obvious!

Like I said these are just ideas and playing around so I probably don't need keyboard warriors informing me about weld penetration or whatever.

Tbh the one on ATM just tended to make it lockup easier, wheelspin easier and understeer in the wet, tightened it up yes but not really a benefit currently haha.

Also picking up a beam, alternator and engine mounts this week, so some bits can be powdercoated

I wanna just equal out the front rear offset differences, but I don't wanna rub or anything.

Wheels are 14x6 et33 I think, with 185/50.

At a guess I'd say 15mm per side? Maybe 20?

Tomorrow ill have a mk3 oil pickup, upper strut brace, GT rear beam, G40 steering damper, full set of engien mounts (to powdercoat) mk3 alternator (can paint and mockup pulleys and such)

4-2-1 should be here wed, will also have new flywheel bolts, caliper seal kits, few random fixings and such.

Hopefully blast and paint the calipers over the next week or two, and finish my lower brace off.

Need to do one more bigish parts order for stuff for rebuilding beam etc, get a load of bits powdercoated, get tyers and upgraded brake bits then should be about there!
