Featured Replies

After some help for a friend, need idea's on stretch for his Ronal Turbo R10 - 7j 15's.

We have spent 2 hours looking and narrowed it down to 165/50R15. Or 185/45R15?

NANKANG's? or anybody suggest any other good makes?

Yeah man all on original paint, was storred for 10years in a barn. :) sutch a nice car! Needs stretch tho ;)

Daft small tyres won't give it stance. Just end up winding it right down and making it drive terribly! Tyre size that are on look better. 185/45 a good choice too.

get some spacers as well

It handles ACE! but its bouncy/bangs on bumps but its cool. (when your sat on the motorway at 70 bobbing up and down you look a don!) ;)

Atm its a tad lower and its on 195/50R15's and scrapes loads (that much cords are showing due to scraping coilover-hub bolt).

He's going for 165/50R15's making it not scrub, meaning lower and some 10mm spacers up front and rears are going for 20mm, with half a degrease of camber (hopefully).

Moooore lows for shows. Repping the 80's for the DTA!!

Also he's going to get some trim for the front and maybe spraying his Ronal bits black!. :D

Ill be repping the 2000's for the DTA In my polo. (once the funds allow)

Yeah man, I'm going to go the same place if i keep my pots, and sorry he hasn't. They rang him up and said they didnt have the delivery so monday they should :D. He will be straight over after, ill get a pic.

ah sweet keep me updated mayte, I'm probs gunna just fit them meself its not major stretch so should be alright

No worries man, I'll be sure to update you. Erm what j are your wheels. Because at work we have minor stretch on Maserati GT's rear wheels. 285/35ZR20's on a 10j or 9j wheels not sure but they take a lot of pumping up to pop the bead. Just make sure you have the valve covered by the tyre and keep pumping air in and out. Should be ok.

Edit- we dewipered the golf today, my mate gave it loads of love and attention today. Sparkeling like a bueaty now. Stretch, lows, spacers and then ready for the summer.

just what i did 165 45 15 on 7j back brake in ride, 185 imo

Is ride is harsh any way. But oh well nice hard daily :)

My wheels r 7j to so should be pretty easy. Cos atm its got 195 on and it rubs on arches

Exsactly the same as my mate. Erm its not majour stretch but it's good enough. XD

Putting 165/50s onto a 7 shouldn't be a chore.

If you drive it slow 165 should be fine. If you like to throw it about 185. I have 165s on my Lupo which is only 123bhp and you just don't feel confident in the corners like you do with 185/45s.

yeah i didnt think they would be to harsh to put on, will be fitting them myself just waiting for tyres to arrive orderd nankangs of ebay cheaper than going to our tyre supplier

your mayte got any pics yet?

  • Author

Yeah man, If they dont pop, cram loads of soap in there :p ahah. Ermm na he's been told that the supplier of the shops tyres are messing him around so still waiting on delivery. Hoping they will be done soon.

Was just to post about the same wheels ;D

I wanted to stretch, but I'm having second thoughts..

Mine scrub on 195/45s, so I'm thinking get 185/45s? Is there really that much of a difference between one ratio profile?!
