hi all, I'm new to here but dont actually own a polo, my mate does but isnt forum friendly, i own a mk1 golf gti myself.

main reason i joined here is to get rid of a load of mk3/6n parts i have in my garage but am interested to see whats going on etc and what i can do to help my mate out with his polo!

I've just acquired a mk1 golf myself:)

Good lad, had a cab 16v on carbs, this is tin top putting my engine in but going injection as carbs are a pain on a daily basis lol.

Fair play mine is a 1.1 3 door tin top

gunna be putting a 1.4 16v afh engine on carbs:)

Cheers lads! The carbs are gsxr srad carbs on Bogg bros manifold. They sound awesome but aren't fuel friendly on a 2.0 lol.

AFH are getting hard to find at reasonable prices now though but look good in the bay.

Whether carbs are fuel friendly or not depends on how they're set up, i've had better economy from bike carbs than i ever have from EFi - and i've owned over 100 cars and carb'd several. They don't have to be tuned for performance..

They must be shielded from the grille though, it's a known problem when they're front facing like that, wrecks havoc with the mixture.
