There's a couple of brackets for the linkages, Iv personally swapped between both.

My car was cable originally, and I know there's a bracket on top of the subframe this bolts to, whether this is on a rod change frame too I don't know!

The rod linkage needs a bracket, for the steady cable to clip into.

I made one of these, it's basically a 90degree piece of metal (angle iron to be precise) with a square hole cut in for the steady cable to clip into, then bolted to the subframe, I drilled and tapped the frame as I don't have welding gear - was preventing the car from being used!

So youve done the opposite if what I wanna do? I think under the bonnet is not too difficult, its in the car ill get on vagcat, see what's what!

Yeah well basically the cable linkage bolts to a bracket on the top of the subframe, it's kind of an engine steady.

Idk if the bracket would be on the frame of the rod change car or not...could always swap frames? Lol
