Rite atm i've got 155/55/14's on my bbs rz's ( 6.5J wide, et30 )

I'm looking to get some better rubber on for when i get this AFH in for many reasons aha

I've seen 195/45's in good quility rubber but I'm just seeing if anyone has ran these with any rubbing issues ?

Why does no one make good 14' tyre size's no more :/ ..

Its the perfect size for a smaller car imo .

On a coupe, 195/45 should be ok....

Yeah i know it will fit but will it go under arch with no catching ?

I have 195 45 14s on my coupe and they used to rub quite abit on the rears with even just one person in the back and sometimes even rubbed on bumpy roads when on my own and driving fast.

That was lowered around 60-70mm with Philj budget springs and shocks. I've got mk1 golf coilovers in the back now and they havnt once rubbed!

What wheels were they on mate ??

I'm almost sure they are BBS RZs, the ones with a big centre cap that hides the wheel bolts.

Thats the best picture I have at the moment, that is when i bought the car so it still has the Philj springs and shocks there.

I'm getting some new tyres put on today so I will take a couple of better pictures later today.

There ra or rms mate , you getting 195 45s put on again , does it rub on the front bud ? Or catch at all ?

you just gotta watch out with the tyres rubbing on the springs if they are a high et, and stance is out of the question with those tyres jay :(

My bad! haha yeah I put 195 45 conti sports on. I've never had issues with the front wheels, they may catch slightly in full lock in reverse but nothing to worry about!

I'm might just get 15s lol :/

no good tyres with 14s at all tbf

Is there nothing good in the 175 range in 14".

I had P slots with 195/45/14s on my old Coupe many moons ago and they seemed to fit fine.

I have a offset of 30 which will scrub up front ,

they do make 175/50 pirelli's , which are poo apperently ...

165/55's made by bridgestone Might be a choice although there about the same as i have now but just last longer from the reviews :/

I suppose it depends how much your looking to spend, blackcircles.co.uk do yokos and toyos in 195 45 14, or they did anyways, they are priced at around £80 a corner though so not a cheap option!

I've got et30 rz's, with 195/45/14's, lowerd 80/60, backs raised up a couple of notches but it rubs with people in the back, mk3 polo coupe

185/50R14 Continentals on a 14x6j et36 doesnt catch on my Mk2, only down 40mm though.

The best tyre size for 14's IMO, my 195/45 Falkens were quite harsh on the road.

You're far more likely to have scrubbing problems on 15s than 14s, but agree the tyre choices are better.

Any sort of stretched rubber will make the ride harsh too, as will larger wheels.

I ran 15s for years, wasn't a bad drive, but I wouldn't go back to them.

Hard, its what i was rolling, the profile looks mint but they dont seem to be available on our island. I got lucky and a guy i know at a second hand tyre place got some continentals in top nick.

Ripped one open hitting a brick so rolling rake now, 195/45 on the rear and 195/40 up front.

I'm down 80/60 (i think 60 on the rear) and have no trouble with these although i had to space the wheels out due to the offset to avoid my suspension.

I did have a problem as my car is stripped i had 9 wheels 5 with tyres and a load of other tyres in the back and my rear (already bent out due to big tyres before) arches ripped some of the tyre on bumpy roads. No issues un loaded.

the only 195/40 14 i can think of is continental and they stopped making them a year or so ago iirc

my 195/45 Falkens were quite harsh on the road.

Had these on my Mk.2 Coupe S and had no issues with them. Can't remember them scrubbing on the Le Castellets I had fitted.

It was supposedly a 40mm drop but I reckon a bit more...

yokos were by far the best in terms of handling but the falkens are the cheapest and are what I have on now.

All depends on your suspension set up, I have coilies so I can withstand the smaller profile. Plus I'm lowered about 70-80 at the min all round with slight scrubbing issues but i have ground my arches down a little
