Update*

includes updates from Wednesday and today

very disappointed about the weather, as it prevented me from putting the timing belt on :( i thought it was gonna be at least running by now :(

as the title change states, this thread is gonna be updated weekly from now on, as i am going on holiday tomoz with the gf, and i start my finance, accounting and marketing intern-ship afterwards which is 9-5, so no time for the car during the week :(

anyways

on a lighter note: i split 2 of the wheels myself and they are gonna be sent off soon to be refurbished and possibly repainted; i was thinking gun metal grey, i think that would be so smart

^^^ funny story this, when i took the head off, me and my dad checked out the oil ways and we found something in there, and we just found out, it was the mesh missing from the middle of this strainer!

^^^ clean tray

011ez.jpg

^^^ head all torqued up

^^^ split :D

024gm.jpg

^^^ 2 done

025pa.jpg

^^^ as the polo stands now :(

i would of liked it running now, but the weather got in the way

further plans:

- new passenger door

- repair passenger side scrape/dent

- lower the car a further 10mm (25mm lower than a standard car)

- spacers on the rear

- new brake discs all round

- red seat belts

- smoked side repeaters

- LED bulbs front and rear

- recondition the headlights

- replace cracked front indicator

- pressed plates

- front number plate hiders (plates tuck into bumper)

- smoothed numberplate recess

alot of plans ahead, but i am going to be working over the summer; so the money is gonna roll in at the end of the month, so progress is going to be slow :(

Awesome! bet you cant wait to drive it :D

This is coming on really nice mate. Lots of effort and will be worth it :D. I haven't been running an undertray as it makes it difficult to spot gearbox oil leaks early. Is the only purpose of it to improve airflow and act as a sump guard? Another little job for you is to clean your coolant res. Did mine the other day and came up nicely, abit of sand and washing up liquid shaken for a few minutes will have it looking new.

Innit :D all mechanically sound now, I've gotta service, MOT and tax her now aha. I would say, end of July at the very latest, and next week at the earliest so the next 2/3 weeks sounds reasonable 8-)
