you've a lot of work put in here mate keep it up! big difference from a lot of people who just put in coilover's and flash wheels, nice to see a real effort being made

^^^

cheers man, appreciated! just a personal preference really; to me, nothing beats a fresh shiney motor that runs well.

i have a few little things left to deal with (front shocks, new brake lines, painting front callipers etc.) and it will be perfect  but yes, alot of effort has been poured into this, and it's paying off

cheers aajr ;) aha

did you see my window regulator fix btw?

not perfection, but just how i would like her haha there is a few things that need to be done (front shockers, brake lines etc.) and a few things i want to be done (getting the body mopped, footwell lights, lower by another 10/15mm for a sporty stance)

just take your time matey, things look alot bigger if you look at it as a whole; take a few steps at a time, and she'll be good before you know it

Update*

Right! its been a while

So what's happened?

well, i finally got round to doing my front calipers! took long enough

got new red piping for the grill

and i've got some Heko wind deflectors on the way!

went to brands hatch and got a few nice pics, and blasted round in my dad's Mk2 Golf. i'm gonna get mine round soon! watch this space

So what's next?

I've finally got paid from my uni for some work i done, so that's paid for the Heko's

It's also going to pay for some OEM front shocks

5K mile oil change is in order

Front lower arm bushes are also on the list

i'm still undecided on lows, but it's gonna happen at some point, but sporting lows, not slammed or decked, not my style ;)

anyways...

pictures!

Car didn't move from Christmas till Easter, it was so dusty

Next to my mum's car

Went to the shops and a 3dr colour concept pulled in next to mine! i love the wheels

Fresshhhhh calipers, and of course, the Pirelli P-Zero's ;)

In the pits

234tv.jpg

And of course, the nicest of the lot! my dad's restoration project; 1989 Mk2 Golf GTi 16v

Gone through the same process as mine pretty much! but this is on Spax shockers with orginal springs, so it sit lower than normal

221ys.jpg

228cq.jpg

Official photo's of me and my dad (driving) going round!

This is exactly why this golf was restored! many more track days to come

214sj.jpg

240nu.jpg

BONUS PICS!

behind the scenes, a few of my cousin's mates cars

Mk5 GTi DSG and Mk5 GTi Edition 30 DSG which is an animal to say the least

Oh, and yes, that is a Astra VXR-R parked behine these...

229yn.jpg

Another Ed30 which is on par with the other, and a 127 cup clio sport (?, correct me if i'm wrong)

231dn.jpg

3, yes 3 brand new Clio Sports

These are ridiculous these cars! they don't come with Brembos anymore, and its the same size as a Mk6 golf! and it's a Clio!! wtf

206yw.jpg

Loop GTi, i love these

This one had the driver seat replaced with a proper racing one

208un.jpg

135i M-sport, i also love these, i know how powerful a 335i is, i cant imagine that in a smaller and lighter package!!

209yp.jpg

And a nice cossie, shame about the hunk of shit parked next to it...

210ot.jpg

I hope you liked the pics and all!

*UPDATE*

finally some progress!

got myself a K&N panel filter, some new polish and got my tyres ordered!

The Ultimate Compound is great for getting rid of bird dropping stains, tree sap and oxidisation

however, it does create some swirl marks after, so Poor Boys does the trick to finish it off

gonna get my springs and shortened shocks within the next 2 weeks!

some pics for now

should have gone coilovers, dont have to wind them down ;)

I had 30mm apex springs and tbh they don't make it a whole lot lower than standard :/

i know i know... but its the whole "bouncy coily" ride isnt what i'm after, i just want a sporty low, not a silly low

And that is what i'm after! i dont want tractor high looks, just a sporty look. i dont want it decked 8-)

The only difference between gti struts and standard non gti struts are the compression ratio and spring length so surely this will mean it will only actually be 15mm lower then it currently is?

Have been informed of this also, and I know my front shocks need replacing, so if it only goes 15mm lower on the original and new OEM rear shocks, i'm gonna get some g-max shortend shocks all round

nobody saids you need to go down on the ground :D but... you neeed MORE low ! :D

i know ;) i'm just gonna see how it looks on springs with OEM shocks.

if i want it lower, (which may very well happen ;) ) i'll get shorter shocks, as i need front shocks as it stands
