Hi. I picked up my polo as I needed something. I wasn't looking specifically for a polo but this happened to come up for a great price and I couldn't not take it.

Its a '97 1.4 8v SE in Red/pink/rust. I call it the bear as it had 2 teddy bears in the back when i got it... the name has kinda stuck now.

Plans are going to be essentially tidy it up. I'm going to tackle the rust first and see what that leaves me, I've never done serious body work or paint before so I will be learning as I go along. After that, lower it, widen it, stiffen it :p

I want to fit seats from a newer 6n2 as well, as the seats in it just now are awful. I've got my eye on a complete interior from a 5dr 6n2 so that might happen sooner rather than later.

I'm really not sure if i should tackle the rust on the drivers door myself or simply replace the whole thing. Any advice would be appreciated.

Started work on the drivers arch today, got the rust ground back and treated with Hammerite Krust, filled the panel with filler to level it out and got it into primer. Just have to colour coat tomorrow and blend the finish into the existing paint work with rubbing compound. Will upload pics once finished.

Got everything painted, still need to give it a polish to blend it into the existing paintwork.

Not bad for a first attempt at this kind of thing.

Going to do the other side tomorrow if the weather is decent
