1998 polo experts please help

hi guys just a quick question my polo will not lock from the drivers door... it will lock if i push the pin down which is how i have to lock my car from the passenger side...

am i right in saying that i think the cable/ rod part has come out of where it should sit.... ?

best bet would be to take the door card off and take a look, if everything is connected then try looking at your centeral locking pump as they are prone to faliure

As far as i know it shouldnt even be able to lock if you push the pin down in the drivers side (at least, mine does not), for security reasons (like if you forget your car keys INSIDE the car. Done that myself some times but got saved by that security).

Very common problem with Mk4 polo's the door paddle breaks. best bet get a trox bit open the door there is one screw undo it then door lock then slides forward and you can remove it to check if the paddles are broken

Door repair kits are on ebay for about £5

cheers guys I'm gonna have a look tomorrow i have a spair set of door handles anyway as i was going to colour code them and so il swap any spairs over i need hopefully.... thats a real good walkthrough btw thankyou !
