Looks like a very tidy car. Schmidts would suit it well! Random question, but what's the 8v like? Is it really slow or is it actually not bad?

The 8v is pretty boring to drive, you can feel the extra pull compared to a 1.1/1.0 car. But with 60bhp its pretty dire. I've been in a 9n 1.4 16v which is 100bhp and that feels immensely better. So yeh, pretty slow. But if you don't care about driving hard all the time then its fine.

Oh right I see.. I used to own a 1.3 mk3 which wasn't too bad, but I'm soon getting a 6n2, just not sure whether it's worth paying the extra money for a 16v and the slight extra for insurance. Oh well, keep up the good work buddy! :-D

Schmidts are on! Having issues getting low due to 195/45's being killed by arches. So for now its kinda high, needs arches rolled and 185/45's or 175/50's too! Maybe some rear camber? Ignore the curbing, they are getting refurbed around November time.

I need more stretch! Thinking 175/50/15's but not sure if the bigger profile will be a problem...advice needed.

Sold the Schmidts, got new wheels, and a double din pioneer unit, and a gti bootlid+spoiler

Got through my MOT yesterday so in the next couple weeks, arches rolled and then I'll get to work with the C spanner!

Yeh i'll get round to it in a week or so, need to move the alternator loom out the way of the driveshaft and also roll the rear arches first!

Should be spot on tbh. 165/50 on the front gives you lots of room under the arches. 165/45 even more!

Have just sold my BBS RMs mate and almost purchased a set of rare convex BBS RS's :)

Would definately consider OZ Turbo's if I had the extra cash though for a second wheel, use the RS's as show wheels!

Take a look at my 6n2..title is 'US/JAP spec 1.4 16v polo' or something along those lines, it's near the top of the mk5 polo page may give you some more inspiration in modifying your car

Winter mode...

The turbos are tucked up for winter.

8 days till the car goes into the bodyshop for new bumpers to go on...till then, a few little bits

- JDM Broadway mirror

- Overkill LED plate bulbs

- GTI splitter for the new bumper

and some instagay edits...

Next year I'm gonna get the front sitting right. So a chassis notch may be a necessity!
