Depends what you're after. If you just want low and a fun drive then go for it. If you want any sort of ride quality or compliance to the road, spend more money.

If "decking" it id personally just get budgets as the amount of damper travel you'll have on whatever you fit will be almost zero.

you have to sit in the same model of car with the said suspension to know....

I'm happy with my TA's with the bottom mounting flipped and raised. but each to.....

For E.G. Mk3 golf on KW V1's bouncy compared to my custom set....

Saying that though I'm talking bout stupid 120mm etc.... Drops. if its 20-50mm its great!!! even for £150...

Good quality lowering springs (STRONGLY recommend eibach) on good condition OEM dampers

I'm not on commission, but as far S quality goes eibach and bilstein are the bollocks.

The issue with your VW polo is I doubt any company has spent a length of time developing and tuning a kit, probably just spring calculations from vehicle weight and wheel to damper travel ratios and such.

But yeah, I'm not sure if the OEM setup uses the "bumpstops" as a spring aid or just for large compressive periods, as some cars have minimal bump clearance and use the spring aid as part of the whole setup, altering the bump clearance by 40mm may have an adverse effect,

If I went for springs would I be able to get 20mm if I just wanted to lower it by 2cm.

Smallest I've seen are 30mm springs on ebay.

Mm not sure, they probably only really make them 30mm ones you can find, but thats probably from the usual 6n height, which would equate to 20mm on your already 10mm lower valver? :)

Could do all the maths and get some custom springs made by Faulkner if can't find what you want.

That's tricky. I would be assuming the 16v is already lowered by only 1cm. I will have to do some research on the net.

I've got some racelands and i love them, think the ride is awesome! I drive brand new toyota's all day and I'm actually happy to be driving my slammed polo on racelands cos 1. I can actually feel the road and 2. when i hit a bump the car doesnt bounce around after I've hit it, its just over and done with straight away. I can understand that spending £700+ on coilovers probably makes the car incredibly comfy and handle amazing, but at the end of the day, i dont have £700 to spend, so i bought some racelands and a year and a half after fitting them I'm still smiling :) hope that helps!

Completely agree with this guy ^^^ for the price £100 they are great, not overly hard and I've taken my nan out in the car (down 100 ish mm) and even she agreed they are pretty comfy, wouldn't say they are any stiffer than the standard set up on my dad's 54 plate fiesta, they stop that ridiculous body roll.

I've done a few long trips with them and cant fault them, BUT, I had them wound all the way up to -20mm and they were the most uncomfortable thing ever, even on a newly re-surfaced road I spent more time off the seat than on it, lasted 2 mins before I wound them back down. They were so hard I got an advisory on the MOT (reduced suspension travel IIRC)

I'm yet to have a problem with them after 4k miles and I smash them about a fair bit.

Where can you get them quite cheap from? I saw that you can get fk coilover kits cheap bit the drop on the cheap one is up to 70mm and it's not nearly low enough lol :) thankyou Harris.racing :)
