But yeah, I'm not sure if the OEM setup uses the "bumpstops" as a spring aid

aids

standard ride height aids.

Anyone ever weighed coilovers and comapred them to standard stocks. Or does it all depend on different manufacterers.

The effect of the coilover stiffness/damping will have a lot greater effect than a few kg of weight.

The coilovers may actually be heavier

I see because I got some light weight wheels (same radiuous of r14) and the reduction in unspring weight gave me a huge peformance increase in terms of acceleration.

I thought coilovers would be made out of some lighter material. So thanks Harris. I'll have to find out the weight of the weitec's & then the standard suspension I have on.

You will usually find coilovers are lighter than a standard setup, not in the case of the pig tail springs but usual small spring and helper I would assume so, shorter damper alone will reduce the weight.

Yeah Bickerton. I've just been on web and googled coilover weights etc

It seemed that everyone who weighed thier new coilovers said it weighed considerably less that stocks.

Some were reporting total savings of around 6kg which is alot for unpsrung weight reduction.
