The day has come to sell my beloved 1980 mk1 volkswagen polo.

Its florida blue in colour, 895cc 4 speed but is well nippy for what it is!

taxed and tested until july this year. The last M.O.T has around 45,000 miles on it but has recently had upgraded mk2 clocks fitted showing over 100,000 miles. I have the old clocks to show.

This car is a real head turner, been lowered on ATS classics.

It's a 1.8 with weber carb, you can still get insurance cheap on classic depending on how old you are. I get quotes for £150 admittedly I'm am now 25.

are there any more bad point to the car? any more rust apart from the bits on the door you mentioned? have you had any problems with the soft top, like rips?

The electric roof works fine its in good condition, Underneath appears solid, boot floors solid etc. The rust on the door is at the window seal point and the bottom and some bubbles under above the sill. I'm quite picky with my cars making sure everything is perfect so if I was keeping and using it I'd gradually do the following: get a new door from ebay, grind off rust bubbles under the door, and paint the new door and where the bubbles was, raise the coil overs a bit or roll the arches or fit narrower wheels (Will rub with people in the back), adjust the tracking and camber, tidy bits of the interior such as door cards. I cant see anything that it would fail the next Mot on, wheel bearings and bushes seem solid, lights and horn work, I don't think emissions count as its a 91 but it is running fine on a weber carb, drives straight, hand brake works tyres are all good.

What deal would you do if your interested?
