Right so after having my gti broken into with the classic hammer and chisel into the barrel lock, my drivers side door handle is looking unsightly to say the least. For a repair and new barrel lock I've been quoted over £100! However, I have a spare PASSENGER side door handle which is pretty much symmetrical so was wondering if anyone knows if this would fit the drivers side as a straight swap?

Your best bet would be to find out the part numbers of the passenger side handle and driver side handle, if they are both the same, then it will work !!

On the other hand if they are different, maybe take the driver one out (not to sure about 6n2's but i know with my 9n it only takes a few minutes to remove) and compare to the passenger side one
