£10 to who ever fixes my problem!

My understanding is that if that flap was sticking it would run like a dog and would also be difficult to start cold.

ahhh that kinda makes sence....... so when its hot that flap isnt opening all the way??

When you switch the ignition off, that valve is supposed to close to make a better engine shut down, and then when you go to start as soon as the ignition is ON the valve should open, for normal engine operation, but if it's sticking in the closed position when the engine is hot it will not allow any air into the intake so the engine will not start, then when the engine cools down the flap returns to the open position the engine can start

You could try taking the operating arm (#12 in the first picture) off and manually set the flap to full open and see if it will start ???
